FJ Cruiser was hit hard by the 2008 economic woos resulting in higher gas prices and huge decline in buying power ..... I don't see that happening to the Bronco
Um, about that.... did you happen to notice the sky-high gas prices, potential impending recession, and record high inflation? 😬

Like the current $5.00 a gallon gas and the looming recession? Probably not as bad as 2008 but the shine eventually wears off of everything. Especially when mass produced.

We are all participants in the "gotta have it" culture.
that was my opinion a year ago (11 April, 2021) .... I didn't know Putin was a crazed genocidal murderer back then!

I understand that D.C. is realizing pushing electric cars and green energy is lowering the taxes they get from fuel purchase so they will be taxing e-cars heavily in the near future. I'll stick with gasoline. Not being political, just being logical on why I chose fuel over electric.
A transition to Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) as a method for replacing lost fuel tax revenues is imminent.

It sure is, soon the family vacation trip to Florida will cost a few hundred dollars more because you'll have to pay tax for every mile you drive to get there.

Alternatively, it will cost about the same amount as it does now. But will be calculated and assessed differently. That's assuming the amount of revenues generated are generally equal to current day, which (BTW) is wholly inadequate to fund the construction/maintenance of the freeways and roads you use to get to Florida and back. Everybody wants nice things. Nobody wants to pay for them. Except Broncos and aftermarket script logos. We all have money for those...

It'll cost the same as now if it gets implemented when gas is dead, but it won't. It'll be sooner than later. For sure isn't adequate to pay for roads, but if you have a Bronco not having a road is not your problem right lol.

Haha! Exactly. Coming from a TJ Wrangler to the Bronco. I live in Detroit. People ask why I need a rugged 4x4 in the city. There is nothing better for traversing the potholed streets, steams caused by water main breaks, and 2-foot deep ponds after major storm events. Like with many things, the urban and rural areas have more in common with eachother than the suburbs.

The money to fix the roads is there. Greed and corruption take much of it then a bunch gets taken to pay off special interest groups that demand their cut in the pie. You could pave a road with what it takes to fill a pothole. It's just going to get worse as everyone grabs all they can before the big crash. As we fall into socialism. Your kids are doomed. Family road trips will be limited to battery distance. Government control by design. How do you "jump start' an EV,,, LOL Just like a loosing team replaces the coach, we need new owners and coaches.

@Rusty Sheckelford hit the nail on the head. The current prices aren't due to the war in Ukraine.

Maybe an E-Bronco will come sooner than later...
