Am I the only one that mounted it to the plate underneath the steering column or something?
I had no idea that was a thing. I saw numerous threads and videos and every one I saw put it in the same place

The plate is already made of pretty heavy gauge steel, so it's a mild heat sink which is nice. And it's super easy to get to things if you need to change settings on it afterwards.

That’s best put in the passenger rear wheel well and there is already a company that makes an amp mount for that spot
who makes the mount
thanks

They also make a $400 sub box if you want to splurge on that too. Couldn’t bring myself to do it

After watching everyone get creative with mounting the Kicker Key 200.4 up above the glovebox, it seemed like a need to be filled. Thanks to my friends at @Mountains2Metal , it is becoming a reality. Thanks for letting me be the Guinea pig guys, install video coming soon.

Hard pass. I'll just grab some 1/8-3/4 plastic sheeting and make that for a fraction of the price.

Nope mine is on the plate under the steering column. It’s almost like it was made for it.

Hotdog, can you share a picture of your mounting location and how you ran the wires? Sounds a little less invasive.

Thanks!

like the effort, looks solid, will be on the lookout. I too have the 200.4/harness ordered and coming in 2 weeks or so, Bronco is sitting in production, hopefully in the home stretch

I don't trust my hatchet jobs, prefer a tested solution

Looks promising for the right price. Less than $40. Otherwise my zip ties work just fine until I can drill some holes

Gotcha ( I know you said glove box, just double checking). The spacing just looks very similar to placement of mounting screws for the steering column plate that a number of people also used (pic credit to @philjmatt ). @Bronco-ocnorB this is a rough shot of the plate once you remove the plastic trim underneath the steering column.
Routing of the wiring is the same as going to glove box, just in the same gap underneath the stereo on the drivers side. Some zip tied to the plate, but it was super easy to just drill some holes for screws to attach the amp to the plate, or you could use some self tapping screws.
