As a long time past
Owner of an FJ- I loved it for its tonka toy looks- had a 2 inch lift with 35s, but man it was a pain in the arse.. blind spots galore, don’t get me started on how many times I replaced the windshield..
and the suicide doors were garbage...
Man I do miss the damn thing...

I agreed with everyone that is going Bronco because I'm three drinks in and the Bronco is gonna be awesome.

That is all....carry on.

There is money to be made in the segment the Jeep currently owns.

The high interest the Bronco is receiving is arguably due to Ford doing their homework and thoughtfully or luckily deciding to resurrect it beautifully in the mold the of original and giving it credibility to be a true off-road SUV.

If Toyota were to theoretically be inspired to do the same with their own legendary FJ40 series (obviously for financial reasons to gain a share of this lucrative market segment) and bring it to life staying true to the original's appealing qualities would you abandon your decision to wait for the Bronco and wait for the FJ instead ?
Nope

A modern day FJ40? Good bye Ford.

No hard feelings and thank you for forcing Toyota's hand.

The only Toyota's that interest me are the ones they refuse to sell over here. The 70 series trucks, either the troop carrier or double cab I'd take them over the Bronco.

I really like the old FJ40, and used to own a 76 model. I can't express how disappointing the release of the FJCruiser was for me (and numerous others). No removable top??? Really Toyota?? Ford appears to have nailed the looks, capability and nostalgia with Bronco. I'm still holding a grudge with Toyota... and this Bronco is just too awesome to walk away from!

if toyota cared they would be bringing the 70 series over. They are too conservative for their own good sometimes. See the A90 supra and the FRS/BRZ/86 and the Yaris where toyota just does some styling while the majority of the drive trains are not toyota, I mean the yaris is just a rebadged mazda 2 with a different front bumper

Not a chance in hell for me. Im going Bronco all the way. I can't see them ever designing it to be able to take the doors and top off either.

Maybe something electric if not Bronco. Makes no sense.

I’ve said several times that if the Bronco was coming from Toyota with their reliability record: my order would be in and I’d know I was set for a truck for 20 years.

I’ve been considering LC’s for the last 4 years and just been detoured for the last 6 weeks to a Bronco.

That may be the view of several Toyota loyalists who were abandoned by Toyota.
Toyota also abandoned Supra fans despite the BMW they rebadged as a Toyota Supra recently.
