Looks, looks and looks.

Nothing says "I'm just putting stuff on my vehicle because I think it looks cool" like a snorkel. There's a Wrangler Sport running around my town with a snorkel and I GUARANTEE it hasn't ever been in a situation where it was needed.

To be perfectly clear, this "mod" has not a damn thing to do with performance in any manner.

Probably be better off with a foam prefilter instead of trying to make your rig breathe through a "silly straw".

To say it does nothing is incredulous but I agree that there is little need for this with today's filter tech. 70s and 80s intake tracks, plenums and filter cans benefitted from these because their intakes are not sealed as well nor did they filter as well as do today's thermoplastic and rubber gasket intakes.

Not yet but this is one of the biggest complaints of the 2.7l 6G. I'd put money on Ford fixing this in the next facelift or 7G. Eventually the aftermarket may find a solution to raise or seal the alternator but it's tight in that 2.7 engine bay.

Supposedly AIG (I think that's that) is working on some sort of shield thing to help protect the alternator a little bit more. Been waiting to see what they come up with

I kind of like the design of the Ford factory one on the Everglades... anyone know if Ford plans on selling that a la carte to use for other trim levels besides Everglades?

We order all the parts to get one but it gets kinda pricy, since you need the whole snorkel kit, and a new washer fluid tank plus all the mounts. We mocked one up on my 2 door and everything seems to fit!
