Airaid Snorkel Installed (after engine stall from water intake)

I mean, based on their own website... I am a bit disappointed in them, but I like the way it looks compared to others I have seen, and I know I will make it work. I just feel there is false advertisement here. Oh well, I will keep everyone up to date when I come up with a solution.

I don't like to stir drama, but I just want to let others know who purchase this kit, exactly what they are getting. I can't stop anyone from doing anything. I wish Airaid was on here or at least communicative.

I feel the same way. It's probably the better looking one out of the existing snorkel options and it mounts in a way that won't interfere with my ARB compressor. I kinda wish it was made with an intake more like the Everglades to better mesh with the limb riser function though.

So I bought a piece of rubber off Amazon and zip tied it around the stock intake inlet. While not a perfect fix, it will keep dust and water from entering. The goal was never to go in water past the stock intake Inlet but prevent water from entering when it splashed up or briefly came over the hood. While I would like something more elegant, this provides the function I need.
I test drove it around town and the highway. The butt dyno says it feels no different than before.

"The snorkel setup is designed to add a new air inlet source that is away from the ground and where the stock air intake is. This is to help have an air inlet source away from splashes, mud, and most of the dirt. While this will not seal off the stock intake and still allow for air to reach the air filter via the stock inlet; it does provide an alternate air source when off-roading."

Well that sucks. Maybe it shouldn't be so surprising, considering that they'd be admitting their snorkel isn't technically a snorkel on facebork for the whole world to see.

I just saw a 4-door Bronco with a snorkel in Hutto, TX this afternoon they were moving so I couldn’t see which brand it was, but I think it’s the Airaid. Wonder what the think of it.

If you sat in it, you would never know. There is absolutely no sign nor scent that there was water. I am extremely pleased with the wash out interior of the badlands.

Moshimoto just announced theirs as a presale, but the made a cover for the item intake, but said you can run both except in water. See if they will sell it separately.
