So much drama about MTs why wouldn't they ( ford ) just say no more manual transmissions ? If they were not gonna build them

Any vehicle is niche to compared to the best selling truck of all time....smart.

650,000 F 150's in 2022 BTW.

Bronco ain't niche. Just like a Jeep - was niche, no longer is niche.
Actually it was 650k F-series. Not only F150, but 250, 350 and 450 also.

You mean like a straight answer? From Ford right? Come on now, be serious.

They are probably going to cancel them in 2024 then bring them back in 2025 as a more expensive option than the automatic, which they'll use to justify another massive MSRP increase across the board. I've spent dozens of hours trying to speak with various Ford customer support people and it's been the worst corporate consumer experience of my life.

I've had better support for $3 rubber gaskets.

Unfortunately there are not ENOUGH manual enthusiasts or Ford would still still be building manuals.
I think you’re right, the take rate is probably far too low for any long term interest from Ford. Truth is they could cut it tomorrow and 7 people would care.

Edit: I do hope everyone with a manual on order receives one. Would be a shitty situation not to.

I don’t think that’s the reason they stopped making manuals for 2023. Lmao.

Do a quick search on the forum and you’ll see they are probably halting production until Getrag can produce a manual that doesn’t sound like a rock tumbler.
😝

Wow, so if Ford is effectively discontinuing the manual transmission (hope not, but it certainly sounds like it) where does that leave those of us with transmissions that sound like a “rock grinder”? In my case, my service center me told Ford would replace the entire transmission due to the noise and that it was on order. But if Ford isn’t even going to make them anymore, then what?

I’d be furious if that were the case. Unfortunately I’ve been furious ever since July 2020 when they said the manual only came in a 4 cylinder so I can’t really get any more furious. Sorry to all my manual die hards. I already threw in the towel though.

My dealer offered me a 2dr 7MT with Mid package recently. I wanted High so I passed. I sort of regret it. I hope you can find one somewhere.

Mine is a month from being built, if Ford can't fix it and won't build anymore then they need to upgrade me to an auto/2.7 for free. My take is if I can't have fun rowing my own then Ford can make it right with a stouter go pedal.

Trust me, I feel your pain. I waited 23 months for mine which was irritating as it is. Now I’m on my 2nd transmission that sounds like it’s dragging a tin can down the street. I hope they can figure it out soon and keep cranking the manuals out.

The manual option is the only reason I have a Bronco.

You're fighting the fight brother !!!
