So it works THROUGH the MIC top? That's cool. I wonder if it would work through fiberglass? (I have a Turn Offroad top)
yep no problem through the fiberglass. works through fiberglass, glass (sun roof), and plastic but not through steel or aluminum.

Thanks for posting this! Very interested in this as well as the Mini Dish option.
I already have a mount designed for the Mini-dish and have one coming in the next couple of weeks to test with. Hopefully its powerful enough to be a good solution like the Gen 3 dish is.

How about a vacuum formed plastic cover for that ugly mess?
We can make an aluminum cover too if you want. Just didnt want to add the cost but it would be super easy if you are worried about it.

Any info on the speeds through the hard top? Like the other guy mentioned I have the Trailrax Trmr on mine now and as it is my Starlink sometimes struggles connecting through the wrong trees. I would have thought the hard top would kill it. You run that with things on top as well or just an empty hard top?

I am getting similar speeds in the Bronco Raptor as I get with my roof mount on my F150 Raptor. so to be straight I can get up to about 280 MBS in most cases and it will fluxuate as you drive some. But normally at least 100 MBS and most of the time north of 200. sometimes you will see 300 MBS plus and I think that's just when you have perfect conditions.

Looks like it is mounted on a Braptor.... Not going to work on a two door. Rear roll cage drops at a different angle.
correct haven't worked out the 2 door version. Will do that next if you guys have interest in it.

Probably not me... I head into the back country to "disconnect"

I can see the value in it for a number of others though.

Very cool and great information - appreciate it. I was looking into the Starmount for the roof rack but this saves taking any space from there.

I’ve been checking out Unique Componentry’s bespoke Starlink conversion that repackages the Starlink antenna and components in a form factor that is only 11.94" x 21.43" x 1.0" thick and which then can be easily mounted to the top of the roof on magnetic pucks (for easy removal) or hard mounted for longevity. To me this is a much smaller and “cleaner” installation that can be removed (when needed). This is probably the route I will go when it comes time to up my “commo” game.

This conversion has been evaluated in the field by the people at Overland Journal and they like it a lot.

That unit requires you to cut open the dish and make modifications to the inside of the unit. Our quick release is also very small format. This was intended to be a specific application to show an inside mount for the Bronco.

here is a picture of our quick release mount in a fixed flat mount for you to compare with. This is the same unit removed from the Bronco roof mount and installed in our low profile fixed mount. You can put suction cups on or magnetic mounts to fit your application. Or bolt it down to the top of the RV or boat, what ever you need.
