Has anyone installed the Eibach HD coilovers to their front end themselves? I'd like to attempt it, but from the videos I've seen, the standard ride coilovers
can be a pain to compress enough to install. I can't imagine how the HD's will go in.
I think the rear will be fine, but any tips, tricks would be appreciated.

I didn't do the HD but I thought the regular were quite easy. Would have been a lot easier with studs in the tophats instead of bolts.

I really don't think it should matter which springs you have, you're not going to be compressing any of them. You just need to be able to drop the lower control arm enough to get them in. If you remove the lower control arm it helps a lot.

Are you talking about installing the coilover with the spring you want installed already? Or swapping springs out? Neither is that hard just a little time consuming. If you're doing springs make sure you don't kill yourself.

If you are just swapping out the springs, I just did this. I didn’t mess with a spring compressor. I just took the top shock nut off and raised the truck till the spring was loose. Undid lower mount and pulled the coilover out, swapped springs, and put it back in the way it came out. Way less sketchy than using a spring compressor! 😬 Fronts are a little bit more involved but you get the jist.

I found the rears to be harder than the fronts. But I have a rear sway bar that HAD to be disconnected on both sides. No locating pin was a problem, and articulating the rear end enough to get the lower bolt hole lined up sucked. But the front was easy. I got the second front one done in about 45 minutes from removing the tire to torquing it again.
Nothing like coilovers on a compact car, but that’s ok.

No problem at all with the install in the driveway on Jack stands. Just be mindful not to overextend the cv joints and pull the apart. The rests take longer just to under all the plastic screw/pin retainers and drop the liners out.
