There are 7 deadly options that may delay your build. 2 door is one of them. There have been numerous threads on it...

Yes but as a 7/13 res, he likely can/should get a MY21, plus his dealer is saying Ford is not making any MY21 2 doors (which nowhere has that been heard before) and The Dealer told him to come back in the Fall. The 2 door is said to be ā€˜extended wait timeā€™ and no where has it been said to be ā€™late availabilityā€™ or MY22. This seems like theyā€™re playing him.

Find another dealer that knows what they are doing at a price you're ready to pay. I converted yesterday and my dealer immediately knew that my build included 3 of them, then proceeded to tell me about a guy last week with all 7. Ford has been very clear about what will force you into a '22, and what may cause a delay on a '21...

Please, no more "Dealer said!" panic. Many are woefully uninformed, including when it comes to production issues. Just like many people here, they read "may" or "could" and see "shall" or "will." Then they tell someone who tells someone and we have a doomsday rumor started. If you don't see it in an email from Ford corporate, don't believe it!
Not trying to cause any confusion - I'm here in the forums a lot and I had not seen this ever. I agree Ford is having a tough time with this one and we're trying to piece together information. Just trying to make folks aware what I heard and where I heard it from.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. He told me that because I had ordered 2-door, 2.7, Lux, Hardtop, etc. that Ford had "locked" the order and he wasn't able to add a couple odds and ends I wanted. He told me it's very unlikely I get a '21. I'm number 17 out of 400 reservations. I told him that didn't seem right and I could change my order any time until March 19th, and I sent him the post from Ford Marketing saying exactly this. Very confusing situation and I'll be calling Ford tomorrow for clarification. Saying no 2-doors will be built sounds like complete nonsense but apparently nobody knows what the F is going on at several dealerships.
Keep in mind that the dealership doesn't know shit really at this point. Nor, does the dealer affect your delivery. As long as they enter your order (you'll get confirmation on Ford Account), it's in the hands of Ford, not a dealership.

Think he was just trying to manage expectations, which I can fully understand from a business standpoint. No need for you to do what some guys do and call weekly, email, text, want to hold 15 min convos when they're trying to move units to folks who are buying today, not at some point in the year.

Hold tight, remember that compromises lead to unhappiness while still paying the same car note.

I'm in the same boat with you. 2dr, 2.7, lux, BadSquatch, etc. I don't care how long it takes, just build it right, because she'll need to run well out in the woods and in Atlanta traffic on occasion.

And no where in any of those threads is any one saying NONE of those type Broncos will be made in MY21, which is what the dealer told him.

Exactly. Another example of a sleazy dealer trying to game the system for whatever reason. If not for the collective wisdom of posters up in here, a lot of us would fall victim to these scumbags....

Remember the campfire story? The info gets passed around the campfire; by the time it reaches the origination point, the story is completely different. Well, that is the trickle-down on Bronco info, from the Manufacturing People to the Product people to the Brand Manager to the PR Communications Person to the Factory Rep to the Dealer Sales Manager to the Dealer Salesperson (Hired last week, jail the week before that, hangover today...).

Where on earth do people even come up with this stuff.
They pick it off the same plant that produces the "I know the Bronco will have a harsh ride, but....how harsh?" questions.

...but because I'm ordering a 2 Door V6 model, I'm a '22 model year order. They then went on to say that "Ford wasn't going to be making any MY'21 two door Broncos and they just want to set the right expectation with their customers".
I ordered a two-door as well, and V6 even. At best, this dealer has misunderstood what I was told. I was told (by someone who I have very good reason to trust that would have access to such information) that the initial Broncos that will be built will be four-door models. Ford is planning a batch of two-doors after that. There was no clarification whether that means the first week, two weeks, month, or whatever. Just that I should expect that despite my Day 1 reservation, I may not be seeing my two-door right away. No discussion at all about it not being a '21. But also nothing definitive on how many four-doors will be produced before Ford starts a batch of two-doors. My personal opinion is that considering the (relatively) high take rate of two-doors (compared to usual vehicles), it won't likely be that long.

We'll all have to compare notes when we get our estimated build dates.

While we know there are things we donā€™t know, there are things we donā€™t know that we donā€™t know. Got it?

Ford Bronco No 2 Door Broncos for 2021? giphy - 2021-01-26T213516.758

This is not how you make your bones on this forum. You've been watching too many youtubers explain from their double-wide how they got rich.
