@MadMan4BamaNATL $16 is what a lot of companies expect folks to work for... in some of the toughest conditions. The last place I was at had one of the best welders I’ve ever worked with... at $17... I found him another job at $24 because it would have taken me years to get him up to what he deserved. I left there a year ago, myself, mostly to allow the folks below me to move up... because I couldn’t get the manager to give them anything more.

Exactly. The expectation is there, but it's just not realistic, so it isn't the fault of the poor or normal that they just won't do work that hard or tedious for peanuts.

So glad to hear that you helped that guy out; you were a blessing to him. I try to ensure my team is very well compensated and developed, and they get coaching from me which means they should each get a bill! Ha ha

I have a contract for engineering services on a large manufacturing facility (vehicle part). I know those contracts are air tight and Ford would probably have one stricter than the one I’m involved in. There is a lot of language about lost revenue. I’m sure Webasto is on the hook for mucho dinero in Ford lost revenue.

I have a MIC top on order, a VIN, and a June 21st build date. And I know just how lucky I am.

I’m sticking with my MIC with the assumption that the country’s largest vehicle manufacturer can fix this problem (hopefully soon) in the next month or two.

They already threw Webasto under the bus. I guess Ford didn’t want to kick Webasto in the face when trying to crawl back out.

That last statement is not true. $16hr is not working class pay which is what the extra unemployment adds up to. $16hr is nothing.

Look man, minimum wage in Michigan is $9.45/hr. If you can't make it on that, maybe you need to bend over and dig a little deeper to find those bootstraps we all hear so much about. /s

It has to be absolutely hum

Bad enough when people from within the company have to go sort things out at a different facility, but to have the customer come in and spend a bunch of time sorting your stuff out for you has to be awful.

My post from a couple of or few weeks ago.............I predict that Webasto will not be the sole producer of tops in the next year or two.Ford will not continue to allow their production,profits,and customer satisfaction largely to be determined by one supplier.

Why was there only one supplier in the first place?
