Sand mode is useless anyway….
I guess I'm glad I'm old school...LOL. I never use GOAT modes, I prefer to set everything myself.
I can drive on the beach without it, no problem.
Where I enter is flat and easy.
Where I generally exit is a huge soft deep sand dune.
Been beach driving for close to 40 years, but the Sand Mode makes you look like you are just cruising the neighborhood when going up and over the dune.
It is in no way required, but it is definitely not useless.
There is tech that makes things nice, and the fact that I PAID FOR IT I think puts Ford on the hook to fix it.

I found it to be nothing more than a mode that causes the engine to rev higher for absolutely no reason. Plain old four wheel drive cruises the beaches of soft sand and the motor just purrs along.

This was from a dealer service center update, not an OTA update.
There is one reason and one reason only this would happen, and that is the update wiped the configuration for the drive modes you are missing. You mentioned in the OP that the brake booster recall was one of the things addressed in the dealer visit which means they most likely updated the ABS module which is where the config for the different drive mods it stored.

So, you have two choices: Wait months and months for Ford engineers to figure this out and fix it with another update that corrects the config or by adding a service procedure to FDRS where the dealer can fix it. Or, pull the config from another Bronco that has it and correct the configuration yourself with FORScan.

Does it suck? Yes. Should you have to resort to fix things like this yourself with a relatively new vehicle under full factory warranty? Of course not. However, you're going to have to pick your poison in this case. Using FORScan does not void your warranty. The drive modes on these vehicle are all enabled/disbaled in line 760-04-03 of the ABS, so I am sure this is easy enough to figure out how to fix if you were inclined to do so.

Agree for cruisin. It just makes you look like you don't have a care in the world going up and over the exit dune.

Unless Rock Crawl came out in the OBX in the last couple years, I doubt you ever had it.

I had it. Might have been an oversight, but it was there and worked better than I expected.

For what it's worth, I just received the OTA update for the camera recall on May 16th.

I had used Forscan to add Rock Crawl to my WildTrak, along with adding Global Window Close. Just checked and those features are still enabled. The OTA did not wipe them out.

2025 OBX Sasquatch, took it in a few weeks ago for routine service and all the recalls(Brake Booster, child lots, and screen blacking out. I never had issues with any of them.) Last week I was down in the actual Outer Banks, went out on the beach and my Sand, Mud/Ruts, Rock Crawl have disappeared, street modes, Normal, Slippery, Eco, and Sport are all still there. Anyone else had this issue after a recall software update? Brought it back to the shop and they couldn't restore them. Apparently it is a known issue for Ford. Would have had them skip the recalls if I had been aware.

Shop emailed me this:
"We received a response from Ford hotline and they noted that engineering is currently aware of this concern. There is no solution available at this time, but an SSM is being worked on and will be published soon. The are asking us to monitor Oasis which is the Ford information site for Ford dealer's letting us know of current updates and other information. At this time there is no further action that we can take but we will continue to monitor Oasis as requested and once a remedy becomes available we will get your vehicle back in to perform the remedy from Ford. I'm truly sorry about the inconvenience and as I said before, I have not encountered this concern before and we have performed over 300 of these recalls."

So, I suggest you hold off on any recalls that require software updates of you need the off road GOAT modes.
Don't know if you've had this fixed or not yet, but Ford just released this:

Ford Bronco Recall software update wiped out my GOAT Modes 1779279409968-0v

Thanks Ducati1098 - not sure if the ABS update was applied but this sound like exactly what's going on. I have FDRS so I'll jump on this later when I get home. Thanks again
