If they won't budge on price anymore... I'd try and shift gears and hit them up on an extended warranty at a super-discount. They have more room to play on those.

For example -- like 70K and 7 years bumper-to-bumper for $1000.

Tell them you're worried about that 300+ miles, but extending the warranty would seal the deal.

Never hurts to ask... or more appropriately -- "If you don't ask -- you don't get!"

Good idea! I pushed them again with a competitive bid and they said they are all-in. I can try this idea.

Could have been a dealer courtesy car. I bought our Mach-E this way, had 1900 miles on it as a courtesy car, but sold as "new" with full warranty kicked in after the 1900 miles. And of course, a healthy discount. It's a great way to save more money, if the deal is right, I wouldn't hesitate.

According to that, the pricetag on a 2026 stroppe (4-door) is 70k. at 63k, you are discounted 7k over this model year for 320 miles. A fellow 2025 (2 door supremacy) model was 75k., so you're saving 12k for those 320 miles. If I were looking for a Stroppe, I'd be on that deal like a fat kid on a twinkie.
I am not fat, nor a kid, but happy to jump on a Twinkie!

OK, just for reference, there are 4 leftover 2025 Stroppes at a dealer near me (Koons Sterling Ford) marked down to $64-65k with low miles.

Sounds like they are already at $63k, so may not drop any more.

Update:

An out-of-town dealer with which I was dealing got aggressive and beat my local dealer's offer. I asked the local dealer to match it but they declined (I respect them for standing their ground after telling me earlier they were all-in). I will be driving a few hundred miles to pick it up. In short, they met the same price but this one includes $3k of options/accessories ($80k+ MSRP), including a couple I need (trailer/tow package and tube doors) plus a few I don't need but will take (bags for doors and tops, tailgate table, and FITS). I am getting it at the same price as the local one, which is without any options/accessories.

(BTW: I am aware of the tailgate table rattling.)

So, I am feeling good about where I landed on this one.

Appreciate all the insights from this knowledgeable community!

Hope your local dealer doesn't hold it against you when it comes time for service/warranty/recalls. The $3K in accessories really isn't worth $3K. Go ahead and try and sell that rattle trap of the tailgate table NIB. It will be worth a fraction what it retails for. Same goes for any other accessory.

Enjoy your Stroppe.

Thanks.

There are many Ford dealers in my area, several closer to me than the one that had the Stroppe, so not concerned here. Plus I have never known a dealer to turn down service revenue.

The two options I wanted are.worth it to me, the others, as I noted, I don't care about.

Appreciate all the input. The local dealer ended up selling the other SE shortly after we hit our impasse. The two other close-by SEs also sold over the weekend, so they are running out in my neck of the woods.

I am picking it up this Saturday!

It is bittersweet, however, since I am trading in my low-mileage 2017 Mustang Shelby GT350, which I have owned since new. I have two other Mustangs, so wanting something different to complement them. I have been eying the Bronco for several years.

I have a similar question. Looking at a 2025 Badlands 4 door v6 with Lux package that has been on the dealer lot for about a year. Sticker is 63,210 and they are asking ~53,500 for it. It has 1600 miles but is still "new" they say. They did say it had been used as a loaner occasionally and that is the reason for the miles. I asked about the warranty and they said the warranty would have already started because of the loaner use. I am not terribly concerned about the mileage but the warranty having 6+ months already gone kind of bothers me. What are your thoughts on this, I looked at and other than it needs a good detailing, I didn't see anything else wrong with it.

I would question them on the warranty coverage. If they sell it "as new", the warranty has to *start* at the sale date & mileage. We bought our Mach-E this way, it was a dealer courtesy car with 1900 miles, but sold as new, and our new car warranty began in it's entirety upon the sale. Maybe Iowa is different, but I doubt it...

100% agree as well. Unless if the vehicle was actually titled away from Ford into the dealership's name, it is technically still "inventory", with the warranty not active until the first sale (aka "placed in service date"). Otherwise, basically every new car warranty would be mileage minus odometer reading and minus time period. Most come with about 6-9 miles on them from the factory as they're moved about for shipping and for quality testing. It's not a 35,994 warranty when you buy it. It's a 36,000 mile warranty. Additionally, the new cars on the lot that have been sitting for 6 months, don't sell with a 30 month warranty. They sell with a 36 month warranty.

That all being said - if it was titled in the dealership's name, then it is a "used" vehicle, and therefore should be priced accordingly so.

While I highly doubt this is the case for a loaner, it is a risk to consider - usage. When it comes to buying any type of used SUV / Truck, you have no way of knowing what it was subjected to prior to. A sedan is different. Doubtful it saw a water crossing, or a mud hole, or a trip to the beach. But in an SUV, especially one that the driver doesn't actually own and is meant for those types of things? Well, you could see where the temptation to "take it for a spin" could arise. Maybe try out that 4x4 incorrectly, see how it feels. Therefore, I would insist on the driveline fluids (including the transmission and filter) all be replaced as part of the deal. It's so easy to do, they shouldn't have any problem with agreeing to do that. What you don't want is something that some irresponsible hotdog decided to test the water clearance and accidentally got water into the differentials. Do not treat this as a brand new off the truck vehicle. Assume that someone along the way decided to have a little fun down a dirt trail while they had it. Changing the fluids will fix that concern.
