Sharing my experience with sound reduction. 4 door 2.7 Sasquatch softie with factory tires. I tested the sound with a decibel meter on the highway at 65 MPH and it was hovering around 88-92 dBA I purchased the cheapest Bimini top and a cheap 3” foam mattress. Cost $98 combined for both. Interested to see what if any impact it has on dBA levels.

In cooler weather I throw a couple of blankets on top of the mesh bikini under the soft top and it does wonders for both quiet and warmth.

I normally keep blankets in my vehicles anyway and this approach effectively takes up zero space. It's a win all around.

so you're rocking a foam mattress under the soft top? shoot a photo - I'm sure it can be done cleanly but I picture something entirely different.

I do this year round and it keeps the interior cooler under that black soft top…once the AC is spooled up.

Plus for camping it’s easy storage for a big bulky blanket. I just have one of those big cheap Costco throw blankets that was $12. Cabin stays quieter and more temperate for sure.

When the temps get above 60 I'm constantly opening the top. This time of year my blankets live on the M2M flip-down shelf

I used a circular saw to cut it down to size so the edges end on top of the frame so doesn’t look too bad.

So tested it out and it dropped the noise down about 10 dBA from around 90 to 80. So for $95 not to bad of a solution for the upcoming road trip. I was worried it was gonna look a little wonky inside, but with the Bimini and the foam mattress cut to end over the frame it looks pretty clean. It is a light blue color and would have preferred a grey which would have blended even more.

For the summer months, I may just pull it out and only use it on extended trips. Not a big deal to remove. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it does reduce the ability to quickly pull the top down at the spur of a moment when you want to enjoy the summer weather.
