I really felt a difference in my 2.7l 2-dr and the 2.3l 4-dr I had as a loaner. Personally, after that, I wouldn't anything other than my 2.7l.

A 2.7 is going to be far more responsive to modifications, which it should be with 2 extra cylinders.you will also want to consider are you going to leave them stock or add on some goodies.
the 2.3 is cheaper in price and upgrades on a 2.3 will add some noticeable performance.
I have added a tune, high flow down pipe, catback exhaust and intercooler and charging pipes.
and she definitely has some giddyup now. From doing research the 2.3 is easier to mod and gets better gains. Or maybe that just my opinion.
Wouldn't that be BHP (at the crank), not at the wheels? Manufacturers usually rate power at the crank.A 2.7 is going to be far more responsive to modifications, which it should be with 2 extra cylinders.
Normal bolt-ons and a custom tune on 93, a 2.7 will make roughly 355whp/465wtq
A 2.3 is going to make ~290whp/380wtq
That's a pretty significate difference.
It may be slightly cheaper if you start changing turbos, although 2.7 turbos aren't very expensive for a set.
Those are examples of actual dyno numbers from mine and other members.Wouldn't that be BHP (at the crank), not at the wheels? Manufacturers usually rate power at the crank.
Nice. Are the Ford-provided numbers for the FP Tune at the crank or wheels? Those are examples of actual dyno numbers from mine and other members.
Engine numbers would be much higher
They’re at the crankNice. Are the Ford-provided numbers for the FP Tune at the crank or wheels?
Thanks! What I figured, unfortunately. They’re at the crank
