was anyone else concerned about the control arm discussion? i know we won't all be running KOH but control arm damage is disheartening if you are planning hardcore offroading with some "whoopsie" jumps...
Not worried at all. The mention was the control arm "tabs" which I took to mean the bits of metal that the CA bolts in-between... seems like without protection there it's inevitable that if you're dragging it along rocks you run the risk of bending the edges of them.

Just nature of the beast when you're off-roading... hence 4wp taking their protection into account with their skid plates.

ok so I'm new to this, but do we order the broncos like this or come back to the dealer for after market add ons or just order directly from, say, RTR and do the mods our selves? What are the options, and I get that most of these are prototypes. Just almost too overwhelming to wrap my head around.
Order direct and install yourself or get them installed. Your dealer most likely won't do them unless they're purchased through them.

With this build in particular, you should be able to walk into a 4WP, buy the parts, and have them install it.

Hey @618TRVLWILD can you please tell your friend at 4WP that there is a high demand for that exterior stripe? Also, see if they are considering offering it in more colors than black. I’d love a carbonized grey option to match the rest of my badlands trim. 😍
Sent the message on!! Along with that link of the other strip's on the EBs.

The 4wp Bronco will have the parts in their store/web site for you to purchase and install, not sure about Dealers installing their parts.

The RTR one can be done a few ways.
1) They'll offer the main package with all that it includes and then have an 'options' side bar for the stuff you can add/option in to the main package and it's installed at the dealer or factory (I'm not exactly sure where the package is installed). If you go to their website and look under Ranger, you'll get an idea of what I mean.

2)They will sell quite a few of the main pieces separately for people to install, if they don't want the whole package. The decal kit you can't buy separately and if there's a seat option, like Ranger has, that most likely won't be able to purchase separately as well.

4WP really did a great job.

The fender flare eliminator will be very popular.
Bumpers look great.

That roof rack looks much stronger then factory and it works with hard top, soft top, or no top.

And we now know that the bring your own device rail can be had from 4WP. I for sure want one of those.

I wish they had shown the skid plates a little more, mostly they showed the front one.

This is a really cool Bronco. And the 37's looked great.

Edit: I just saw there is more info on the 4WP website.

Pretty cool build, how much would you say all of those upgrades would cost?

The lower control arm mount points are a weak spot on all IFS setups. They're right up front in the perfect spot for you to hit every. damn. rock. with them.

The positive is that with the control arm mounted you can't bend them significantly out of shape, so as long as you don't snap the cam bolt they'll never leave you stranded on a trail.

The negative is, when you eventually have to replace the control arm, you can't get it off because the mount is all warped and wrapped around it. You end up having to either hit it a lot with a BFH or grind it off and have a new one welded on.
