Where this is a
That scares me about my local dealer.
They have 3 "used" Broncos (or had I havent been by in a couple of months) all of them marked up over MSRP.
Well this is the dealer model. It's up to them, and you, to work out the deal. Now the fun starts.

Since these are outside of their normal allocation, we'll see if they are reasonable or not. I've got a request in to the dealer I have an MSRP new vehicle purchase contract with for my 11/21 reorder asking for the same courtesy. I want a Raptor, but I'm not paying some crazy ADM for one. I'm happy to give them the same deal we already agreed on. We'll see how this works out.

My original order is with Kearny Mesa Ford so I am hopeful that they will continue to not charge any ADM

Would you all rather have a First Edition or the Braptor?

Super happy with my FE, especially after the kindve lame Everglades reveal, but I was selected for a Braptor allocation.

Can't have both, so I'd have to sell the FE to afford the Braptor.

Thoughts?
Echoing an above poster, if you're a 2 door, I'd keep the FE if I was happy with it. 4 door, not so much. Either way, you have a choice of two highly desirable vehicles...

Well, I got the loser email.
Should I sit on this for 2023 or screw it and buy a 392 Wrangler.

Bought a Mojave to hold me over since the Bronco fiasco was ongoing and really wanted a Raptor but now can't get that either.

Kind of pissed off about it
I like you’re idea. Agree if didn’t get raptor or got the golden ticket but still gonna back out (by raising your hand you effed yourself), you might as well wait to see what the ‘23 brings. But 392 is going away in a year or two and nobody looks at a 392 and immediately thinks “what a tool” like a Raptor will (justified or not). It doesn’t have nearly as much tackiness as the Raptor.

Now if you live near the dunes and can use the Raptor for it’s intended purpose, that’s a home run. 392 can’t play that game.

So here's how I'm reading this and folks, please tell me if I'm wrong.

This allocation for a Hand Raiser, is outside of the other dealer allocation for this "specialty vehicle". So if someone "wins" an allocation in this process, and they already had a deal at MSRP with their dealer, the only real reason for a dealer to insist on an ADM, is to be a greedy jerk and see if they can get more. They will actually make more on this Raptor than they would have on the Bronco (though likely not that much) at MSRP.

So if I convert my order, they make that bit more and keep me happy. Yes, it's not as much as if it were a Raptor from their allocation of Raptors, but this is just that, not from their allocation of Raptors, this is a special allocation. I'm not taking anything from them by asking for this deal. Right? Am I missing or misreading something?

Heard back from my dealer and they have not yet agreed to an MSRP deal on a Raptor and frankly, I can't see it. They're just hoping I give them more (I won't). I'm not going to pay an ADM. So I'll just stick with my regular order and they won't pass this Raptor through their store. The only person who loses is me.

As I read the above, that won't kick another Raptor to them, that'll just mean they (or I, most specifically cause I refuse to overpay) keep me from getting a Raptor out of spite? Principal? It's not even greed, as they'll actually make less. I don't get it. What am I missing?

If you don't want to pay the ADM, they will shop your allocation to other reservation holders they have until they find the highest bidder. It's that simple, sadly.

The Raptor order is in your name. This first round was selected by Ford and not by dealers. They can't shop it if you don't order it. I would use this against them. If they want the Raptor on their lot then they have to go through you to get it. MSRP on Raptor should be enough profit for them.

It is too bad people are locked into their dealers. With Raptor orders being awarded ro customers directly from Ford then you should be able to move that order wherever you want. I didn't get the opportunity to order a Raptor. My dealer announced they would be charging MSRP - $500 on Raptor and Everglades.

Not to be that guy that goes "my dealer said" but I just got off the phone with my dealer to try and get clarification on this process.

The Ford awarded allocations are based on time stamp and allocation at the dealer you are at. Earliest timestamps at the dealerships seem to have been awarded and the amount is based on what Ford allocated to that dealership. Some dealerships got more, some got less. The allocation belongs to a little bit both the reservation holder and the dealership. I have no idea if you can transfer these Raptors since part of the awarded process was based on your current dealership. I would assume if you run into excessive ADM contact Ford support to mediate the process.

This is the "fun" part. The dealerships should be getting a list of all Bronco Reservations/Orders who expressed interest in the Raptor. Next month the dealerships will be awarded allocations again and from what my dealer was saying they are being told to convert/order Raptors based on that list but they weren't instructed on how to pick names from that list. Reservation date may not mean anything next month. What my dealer did say is that for the foreseeable future Raptors will only be going to existing order/reservation holders.

Take this as you will. It would be nice to get some corroborating information from other dealerships.

I’m in exactly the same situation. Picked up my FE on 1/29 and love it. I likely won’t pursue the BRaptor, but it sure is tempting.

I never get picked for anything like this so I’m trying to convince myself it’s a sign.

I didn’t get selected for the Braptor. I did talk to multiple dealers yesterday though that were either at or below msrp dealers for regular Bronco reservations. They all said they would be anywhere from $20k-$40k over msrp for their customers that get selected. I don’t feel so bad about missing out on the lottery with that information. I think the bigger lottery over getting selected from Ford for a Raptor is going to be buying one at MSRP.

That was a quick about face. Dealer says they will be asking a minimum $40k over MSRP. Coulda swallowed $5k but comon. CYA.
Order the most jacked up Raptor you can, and then walk away. Screw them for asking 40k over MSRP - THAT'S ABSURD.
