If you told me the Bronco would become Ford's #2 selling SUV in North America when it first launched I wouldn't have believed you. Yet... here we are. I guess the Bronco is still relatively new so we'll have to see what the numbers are like long-term. But I'm definitely surprised.

In other news... who the heck is out there buying Expeditions with interest rates the way they are??

Loved every Expy we ever had, but those things crater in value, could never justify buying a new one when a used one was half to a 3rd the price.

Add: ok, I hated the air suspention in one of them. Dumbest thing on the planet. I swapped in a pair of coil springs when the bags failed.

I'll be honestโ€”I have an irrational hatred for them because Expys are what killed the original full-sized Bronco.

BUT, my dealer uses an Expedition to shuttle customers around who get their vehicles worked on. That Expedition has air-conditioned seats.......... and ohhhh mmyyy gooooodnesss...... those are incredible.

I could care less about heated seats, but air conditioned seats are a borderline life-changing experience for my booty.

I wish the Lux included AC seats. Every other option is just meh compared to that.

Bronco production is far exceeding Ranger production at the plant, most likely to help clear the backlog. At some point though that should normalize.

Do you need AC seats in Washington?
Not as much as other states but weโ€™ve had record temps for the state and most houses donโ€™t have AC. So when going out to the car even if itโ€™s just 85 degrees outside, we were already toasting inside the house.

Updated my spreadsheet, below. My take is that both Bronco production and sales have flatlined over the last few months. Of interest is that if you look at the months of March and April, everything's gone down.
Mar + Apr 2023 Mar + Apr 2022 YoY Change YoY change %
Bronco production 24,968 27,190 (2,222) (8.2%)
Bronco sales 19,630 22,870 (3,240) (14.2%)
Difference 5,338 4,320 1,018 23.6%

Looks like Ford is still struggling to grow production in the face of demand and can't even sell them. April was the first month they didn't crack 10K in sales since Nov 2022.

Graphs and data:

Can someone explain production numbers dropping almost 4K but the header saying April Production was up 3% over March??

A/C seats would be money. Had them in a few cars. I wouldn't trade in my 2022 if, say, the 2024's got A/C seats. However when it's time to trade this one in, the 7G or whatever better have A/C seats in that Lux package.

An unknown is how many are sitting waiting on parts or for some other reason. There are a lot that were built and then went MIA. Might explain the reason sales are lower than production.
