Thats not how it works. Adding leather won't cause you to lose price protection and/or head to the "back of the line."

I guess the alternative is to do nothing and just not get scheduled...
I reached out to my dealer a week ago when cloth as a constraint news came out and they said I would potentially be moved in line and lose price protection.

So they have cloth for dealer stock but not for order holders waiting 2 years? Another rug pull by Ford as they never communicated that cloth was a constraint as I would have amended my order to add leather before March 7th or just canceled 😡
Obviously YMMV, but my OBX w/cloth order is currently previewing, so I dont think theyd preview me if they weren’t building any more customer orders with cloth

Your dealer is an idiot. Losing your spot in line within your dealership was never a thing unless you cancelled and placed a new order. Only a body code change will trigger the loss of price protection. Educate yourself and make a decision or run the risk of not getting scheduled and losing price protection anyhow when you have to re-order for MY24. Makes no difference to me.

Be sure to follow up on Thursday and let us know if you get scheduled or not.

So I’m assuming this scheduling event is for new orders only?

And lose price protection and potentially head to the back of the line? I’ve been waiting 2 years. My frustration is the cloth constraint was never communicated by Ford or my dealer before March 7th.
You will lose nothing. Amend your order if you want. Changing from cloth to leather does not lose you any type of price protection.

I second this question
I dont recall the exact number but I believe it was around 15k-16k. All trims included. Looks like current order banks have doubled.

My dealer told me the same thing when I wanted to add LUX earlier this year - sounds like BS. No problem changing the color though.

It was a very old reservation and ordered the first day the banks opened 10/5/22
Is it through Granger? Mine was reserved in October of 2020 and changed in October of 22. Was pulled for scheduling at the end of January.

My understanding was as long as I didn’t change body code I would be ok. I’ve tried to get a straight answer and stated I am happy to change to leather but keep getting the run around.

yes. You can change color, cloth to leather, some options and you will not lose anything.
