Picked her up today...nearly six (6) months from blend date. Saw her last week when delivered to the dealership, caked with dirt. Tomball Ford in Texas is a terrific dealership and removed the Apex they'd installed and didn't try to upcharge on anything, and even pointed out some small rock chips in the paint beneath the doors from Ford's "random test drive" (where they put 114 miles on her while kicking up rocks from ice mountain...many of which I had to dig out of my tires).
Dealer explained, had the transport guy seen the chips, he would have told Ford and the repair/loss would be on Ford...but he didn't...and neither did the dealership.
They asked if I wanted them touched up or even repainted at dealership expense (yes, I wanted a pristine Bronco, but I also recognize I will get more of these if I don't add mud flaps).
I asked what that would cost them and we settled on a gratis accessory, which cost them less (dealer cost) and was worth more (MSRP) than the cost of repairing the chips.
Easy transaction. Just still mad with Ford for not finishing our Broncos sitting on ice mountain without chips while the assembly line continued to roll! Drives much better than my Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon did...and not every soccer mom has one. Very pleased (after 10 miles).
Best of luck, all!
