Do you think the 2.3 EcoBoost will be available on higher trims?

I agree. It’s more likely they’ll do the opposite where they lock the 2.7 out of the lower trims but higher trims you’ll have option of 2.3 or 2.7.
I'm not so sure....
I'd be willing to bet you can option the 2.7 on all trims. At least if they really want to capitalize on Jeep.
You can option any engine you want on the F-150 except the 3.5HO I believe...

The base 3.3 V6 is only availbale on XL and XLT.

So it really comes down to how "base" the 2.3 is.

I tend to think both will be available on most trims. If the leaked axle ratios are true, the 2.3 will be fine with the 315's and the 4.7 ratio.

I don’t have any insight other than seeing what they’ve done on some other models. I believe the top Explorer has a different engine available. In the F150, at one time, you couldn’t get the 3.0 diesel except in Lariat and above, that might have changed now. I’m not saying that’s how they’re going to do it, just more likely.

Lol, I always forget the 3.3
Mainly because I would never even consider it with the other choices available ?
I do too. It's literally just for rental/fleets lol

Yeah I posted this in another thread, but 10th gear, 4.7 ratio, and with the 315's equals out to 2019rpm at 70mph. If you've driven anything with an ecoboost, you know they are primarily low/mid range power engines! Ford will spec the torque converter to give you great power off the line and on the trail. All that plus the drives modes... Have some faith! The 2.3 will be great!
