For those that have installed them, what have you been seeing over 1000 miles or between oil changes?

I installed at 3000 miles and checked at 4200 miles. Mine has a drain line and I got exactly 0 out of it. I'm not complaining one bit. I'll keep checking at set intervals though just in case there is a change.

I got around 15ml after the first 1000km or so after installing. Since then it’s been very little. I’ve only been checking it every 5000km or so.
I have the Mishimoto can on mine.

That’s why they aren’t necessary.

I’ve been running it for 10 months and about 10k miles. I’ve dumped a decent amount of oil sludge out of it during the warmer months and in winter more orange evaporative sludge. I’m running the UPR version.

I installed mine at 200 miles on the odo. Checked at 1100 miles and basically nothing.

Now that I’m past the break-in period I’ve been a little more liberal with the throttle. Checked again this past weekend when I did my first oil change (1650 miles)… and there was definitely some oil-gunky residue lining the inside of the catch can but not a measurable amount of fluid.

Looks like @grayshadow either got his posts deleted by admin or is scared of his own shadow and deleted a couple of posts before I could read them.

I have yet to install one on the bronco, but my wife's ranger has the 2.3 as well and installed one 6ish months ago. It gets checked monthly. Started collecting to send to a lab for pure curiosity. This is roughly 3 months worth at almost 6 oz.

Edit: for context, it's a 2019 ranger we bought new with 14 miles on it. Now has just under 25,000 on the odometer. Daily driver of a stay at home mom. Regular service intervals at the dealership every 7k miles or every spring and fall, whichever comes first.

I had a problem while reposting MannyG20 quote so I deleted my post since it was blank.

So 🤷‍♂️ what’s your point

Eh, all good. My mistake then. Had two quoted messages disappear. No worries on my end.

You sure you have the hoses on correctly? Mishimoto or UPR (or other?).

What would happen if they were backwards? Haha.

Interesting to hear the range of what people are seeing in the can. At my oil change, I may pull the can instead of only checking the drain line. My driving habits include a fair amount of around town with only a few intermediate trips (1 hr one-way) and only one long distance trip. I would have thought the more frequent starts and short duration trips would make a difference.

Different manufacturing tolerances will lead to more or less blow by. I understand that the OEM system has some form of a separator in it, but based on some of the results we see above the separator doesn't allow all the condensables to drop out.

I have the J&L OSC 6oz version (mounts towards the front so I can reach it). Have about 10k miles through it. Warmer months pretty much nothing in it. Now through the colder months I'm getting about 3oz every couple thousand miles. The milky white/brown stuff.
