Just got a FordPass notification about a Recall I haven’t heard about before. Of course not one of a couple some of us would like to see.

As I've tried to squeeze my body through the tiny gap between the front and back in my 2-door, I've wondered how people get car seats and kids into them in the backseat!

How strange, Ford has never had a problem with door latches . The test for this is engage lock, close door, lock doors, roll windows down and try to open from the inside 5 times. If you can't get to your dealer soon, at least try it yourself so you know for sure if they're not working correctly and don't rely on them if you have kiddos in the back.

Seriously, get to the dealer to have checked, last thing anyone wants to see is someone get hurt. Doing it yourself if not a substitute for the dealer doing it.

Let the kids open it. That's how people learn not to do it again. Kids these days to so over protected it makes it sick.

It sounds like you could've used one less bump to the head as a child.

I know mine work fine. My kid turned on the rear dome light. I noticed it on, climbed back there to switch it off. I couldn’t tell which position was off with the door open so I closed the door. Got myself locked in. Had to climb in the front seat to exit.

Perhaps if you slid the front seat forward?
