I will start my personal build thread even before I have Bronco in my hands. It’s been a journey to get to this point, starting my obsession in 2020, selling my built 4Runner in 2021, ordering Bronco BL-SAS Feb 2022, tweaking order a few days later, then this FORD debacle forcing me to update my order and remove LUX, SAS, but hell nor high water I’m KEEPING my MIC. But I do have a plan of success and here it is:

2023 Badlands, 4dr, MIC, 2.7L, Auto, HIGH, TOW, non-SAS, EG
My use plans are Overlanding, Camping at far reaching locations, handle the harsh short winters, tow an Overlanding trailer.

Mod Plan:
Suspension/Lift - OME BP-51 lift system with all new coilovers, UCA, ICON tie rods, (built for Overlanding and gear weight)
Bumpers - Front ARB Summit, Rear JCR Crusader
Sliders - RCI Offroad 20 degree
Skids - RCI Offroad full belly plus rear diff
Winch - Superwinch 10K
Gobi Stealth Rack
Freespirit Evolution Ver2 RTT
HiLift Jack
Black Rhino Abram wheels
BFG KM3 tires (37s)
Various lights including rear chase light
Rear storage for fridge, food, gear, etc etc (hence needing heavier rear springs)
Future - Turtleback Overlanding trailer

Hoping I get Bronco this year (fingers crossed). I’ve done TONS of research, listened to all of you, watched many videos, called vendors, learned from ALL to develop my final plan (always room for change tho). Once I get Bronco I will be excited to start a journal to share here.

RCI Sliders installed today. About as difficult as I expected. My new floor jack was so critical in my success by myself. Used pry tool to pop all the brake line and wiring harness clips. Most went back in, some did NOT have a new hole either in the slider or frame, so I zip tied a few. Weird but this was reality. I pushed the slide as far in/up it would go (tight against frame) and notches in the sliders that “might” have exposed a harness hole were way off. Could be 2023 frame vs whatever RCI designed around. I think they look great, function as expected and install was a 6 out of 10.

Gonna tackle this job on Sunday. Do you think it could be done with a couple of 5 gallon buckets to hold them up? I am on 37” KM3’s as well.

Anything is possible but I tell ya, it was SO nice being able to slowly jack the slider up into place with a floor jack. I could micro-adjust it, push inward as I lifted..Pretty hard to do with buckets. If you use a floor jack, secure it with straps so it not fall off. Even doing with 2 people is a bit challenging as bolting into place is not a fast job and you must move wires and brake lines around. Nothing goes fast. Anyway, were there's a will there's a way, so just be careful and don't drop it on you or the ground.

Okay maybe I will just bite the bullet and buy the jack. Probably cheaper than having them professionally installed at ORW.

Bug / “rock” deflector installed…Bronco is a bug magnet, even just little short trips to get coffee. I think looks good as I’ve always like the look on other Broncos. Real test soon……

What’s the link to the bug deflector? Looks good

I’ve been very impressed from the feedback that I’ve seen from Rhino and their products. Was actually about to pull the trigger on their rear receiver shackle. Seems like their recovery straps are top notch as well 👍

Greatly enjoyed reading through your build and journey. Your taste, engineering mindset and product preference align to that of my own. (Being an IT person, makes sense kinda LOL) I look forward to reading more.
