2023 MIC Hardtop bubbling and peeling - Repair options? (Warranty claim denied)

Has anyone seen this before? Noticed this last week took to 3 ford dealerships before anyone would agree to address it with Ford. Warranty denied. No explanation other than appears to be from exterior. Only option for repair is full replacement of the panel $1900 quote.

I assumed it was a manufacturing issue as it looked so odd to me, but the response has been no it's not a warranty issue but we don't know what it is or what could have caused it.

Anyone successfully repaired minor damage to their hard top?

It almost looks like extra material from the production process and even looks formed. You saying that just suddenly appeared one day?

Edit. Did you receive a production photo or have any photos from when you picked up your Bronco? I am betting that has always been there.

I have never seen that before on a Bronco but I agree that it looks like excess material was in the mold during production. I have seen similar during the molding of dash panels at a company I worked at prior to where I am now. It was called Flash or Spew where excess material flowed on the wrong side of the part.

That would drive me bonkers with my OCD self. Maybe try a Ford Body shop for touch up paint or something. lineX would be my next option.

That looks like something caked on. Did you try washing it off? Maybe using a mild all purpose cleaner?

Or shuffled from one dealer to another before sale ?

Looks maybe someone did a lousy repair of a broken corner

looks like the adhesive they use for the weatherstripping on the removable panels. have you tried picking at it? if a soft, rubber like material, it should come off cleanly with a little bit of effort.

To me that seems like some foreign substance, that dropped or was applied on top of the hardtop surface. Especially since OP mentioned the dealership chipped some off.

Try carefully chipping some more off, and confirm if the top surface underneath is intact and undamaged.

It’s hard like the rest of the top, not rubbery. It does look melted. Bought new, not used. Picked at it a bit more- feel like it’s going beneath the level intended surface line so stopped that, but don’t feel that it’s reached the core.
