Can you even drive a manual if you can't simultaneously do the crotch drink hold, while eating a cheesy gordita crunch, ripping gears, and flippin the bird to all the other terrible drivers out there?
Ah yes, a fellow man of culture :ROFLMAO:

I remember talking/complaining about this before and people seem to think it will work.

Drove to work holding a coffee mug full of 180-degree black stuff. Made shifting more fun, and taking the corners more exciting!

I filled my cup holders with cement last summer. Who needs 'em?!

Odd placement choice for a DIY oil cooler, but I'd like to see the data on the results.

get one of those hard hats with beer holders and some straws, you won't need to use the cupholders
Maybe Ford will provide one since the MGV is missing 2 cup holders that the leather has in the rear middle seat

Looks like you should be in the clear for most drink sizes.

First off: I want to appologize for being on-topic in this post. All effort will be made to ensure this doesn't become a pattern.

Now, down to work:

Judging by the elevate height of the shift knob, and the angle of the dangle between the armrest and shifter, i'm thinking that any drink cup (or straw) poking above that plane will be annoying. This was something I thought about (while checking the 2.7 engine with automatic box in B&P) and I think one of the cupholders will be very functional. Which one will depend on the shoulder width of the driver and where their arm naturally rests on the armrest.

I did a quick hack on this to show you the angle i'm talking about between armrest and the shifter

Looks like I will be shifting like this when I have over sized cups of water (for the health conscious) in my cup holders

If you take toaster out on the town he's going to start drinking
And when he's starts drinking, the next thing he'll want is some weed
If you give a toaster some weed, he's probably going to want some Taco Bell
And if you give him some Taco Bell, he's probably going to get thirsty and want some Baja Blasts
When he's putting the Baja Blasts in the cup holders of your new Bronco, he's going to complain that he can't drive stick with the cups in there
That's when you explain to him that you don't drive while high!

That there is the book I would have rather been reading, instead of If You Give a Mouse a Cupcake (or whatever it was)

Based on the pictures above, I dont think there will be much of an issue for the large Baja Blasts.
I also had a 2011 Mustang GT with the manual and you can forget having a cup in there.

Here's one of the Auto with cups. Assuming the hole is the same depth for the stick, you might clear everything but the straw.

Finally found a better overhead photo, and in this i've drawn where your arm would reasonably go for the driver (red hand, arm and shoulder) and where beverage bottles will sit (blue balls).

I had supposed the shifter was off-center slightly, so it's looking like the best type of beverages will be a pair of taller water bottles with narrow neck, or perhaps 32oz Big Gulps of Black-Ops Code Red that have flat tops and tall straws.
