I am a Senior Master Ford tech and have a 22 badlands - have not been able to get it to accept sport mode - have done it on a few 2021's - every time i try on a 22 it stops halfway through or so and says operation interrupted. I have downloaded all the latest ForScan stuff and have the lifetime license - still nothing - if anyone finds out how to get it done please let me know.
Does the 21 truly go in “Sport” mode, or is just Baja mode showing as Sport?

I heard for that particular trick for the 2022 you need the prior version of Forscan not the current one...there is a thread in the forum about it...

I can document that also…Sport and Baja are different. I will tell you first hand Sport is going to eventually cost me a ticket for enjoying it too much.

I heard on a different forum from the owner of a 2022 Badlands that the ForScan change to add Sport mode has been locked out.

can anyone else confirm if this is true or not?
Seems like for the Sports mode, Ford is gonna pull a subscription shenanigans like BMW with heated seats?

Nope. They’ve always had drive mode configurations set depending on the trim level. It’s always been easy to add them back. It would probably be a liability to add a street sport mode to a vehicle with the Badlands’ configuration.

Forscan is windows only so you would need to dual boot your Mac with Bootcamp and install Windows that way. Thats how I do it at least. I suppose you could run a VM and get it to work though.

I managed to get sport mode on my 22 2.3L 7sp Badlands just a little bit ago. What I had was Forscan version 2.3.47 (newer will likely work too) with an extended license (needed to change ABS module). Then I went into the ABS Module (AS-BUILT) and modified the row 760-04-03 and went to the third column and changed the second character from a 9 to a B.

For example you will see something like:

760-04-03: 1234-5678-X9TY which would change to 1234-5678-XBTY

I received a checksum error that allowed me to continue past it. Then cycled the vehicle on/off. Then went back in and cleared any codes.

I have to do a test drive but waiting on a new torque wrench since I had to pull the wheel off to install the Mishimoto Oil catch can.

Im still worried it will cause warranty issues. I have the 2.7 and could have issues.

I’ve been using it for 7 months…no problems and it’s amazing the gas mileage actually hasn’t been impacted.

since it is a “buried” factory setting I have been assured there is no warranty issue. The same exact engine runs in sport mode on a wildtrak Vs a badlands, so there is nothingoutside of what the factory designed.

Easy peasy, thanks to the OP.

I haven't driven in Sport mode yet; it must be a bit disconcerting in a 5,000-lb. behemoth.

Which release version did you have when doing this? The older 2.3.47 or the newest release 2.3.48
