Air compressor recommendation

Hi All, I'm looking to purchase an air compressor shortly. I’m not too concerned about reinflating all 4 tires at once, and don't mind walking around to all 4 corners to air each tire up. I don't want a piece of junk as I sure don't want a failure at the dunes leaving me with (4) 15 PSI tires. I also don't want to overspend, hence not wanting to buy a high end 2 cyl compressor and 4 hose air line kit. I watched the YouTube compare video posted here, and was thinking of the Smittybuilt or the Morrflate single cyl.

Any personal recommendations along these lines? I would probably only be using it 3–4 times a year, most likely. I thought I might get some better ideas from personal use stories. Thanks!

Get a single with two hose system, you'll be fine, save money and space.

Viair and MORRFlate I know make a good single (MORRFlate's is the FiveSix). I'm not as familiar with Viair's models, but Tyler w/MORRFlate talks a lot about how good they are.

Also note that the digital readout hub is more accurate, but the batteries go out very quickly (especially when you forget to turn it off...). I tend to use my TPMS (no batteries), although that's always a psi or two behind.

It’s not expensive. It’s the best bang for the buck hands down.

The viair is great. I’ve borrowed my buddies many times. The guage is way off, but consistently, so you just assume 50psi-ish is good and then check manually with a guage or look at the TPMS screen. I really like using the TPMs screen for filing.

i allowed my vanity to get the best of me and just purchased the AAL Tailgate Compressor kit that has a single ARB. Excited about the install and never having to forget to pack the compressor. Oops

The ARB Single will do a 35" tire from 15PSI to 35PSI in 3 minutes. The MORRFlate will do all 4 tires in about 4 minutes.

I'm very happy with the Milwaukee M18 Inflator. Picked it up with 2 batteries plus charger on sale for just under $200 around black Friday. Found decent bag for it on Amazon for $20. I have the factory squatch Good Years. Takes 20 mins to get it out, air up from ~16 to 36psi and put it away. Uses 50% of one battery to do it. You can set the inflate pressure so the unit turns itself off when the tire is full, which is nice if you're multi tasking. If you plan on airing down/up a lot during a trip, bring the charger along and keep the batteries topped off.

Extra bonus, it doesn't start to smell like burning bread on the 3rd tire like my ancient battery clip one did!

Not a big fan of multi-hose setups as it's just more stuff to pack and tangle up. This one has a 2ft hose that coils up in one end.

I use this one to inflate both car's tires now since I have the Bronco and the wife's car's front and rear pressures stored in the memory. Still use the regular air compressor for my dolly's right tire - which is flat every time I go to use it.

It appears you have 33" Badlands tires, so you're not inflating 35" tires. I have Badlands Take-offs on my OBX, 33" Nitto Nomad Grapplers. 18# to 35#. DEFLATE: I recommend screw-on deflators. I used to use Delaware tackle shop versions, for years. A pair is fine, 4 is better. Now I got fancy and have a 4pk of Staun. I watch the dash psi gauge and may remove early if conditions warrant (ie, they're set for 18#, but 20# may be adequate).
INFLATE: FOR alligator clip models, I used a larger one for years. If you're only airing up a few times a year, could be a good choice.

I Installed the ARB single in my Bronco, 2+ years ago, love it. Used 4x4LED kit. One ARB hose and air pressure valve. Not a fan of space hogging multi hose sets, but some love them. Again, the dash Tire Pressure monitor is so accurate, compared to past models, I Haven't used a gauge to check PSI since I bought the Bronco, except the inflator. I air up about 2 dozen times each year on the Beach.

I have the double ARB mounted under the hood and just use one ARB hose. Utilize the dash tire pressure page with no issues. Couldn’t be happier with the set up and function.

I also have the Apex quick deflate valves for airing down. Highly recommend them.

Never dread airing down or up as both are quick and easy with this set up.

I know you didn't ask about on-board air compressors but as you can see, it's a fan favorite. They do cost a bit more BUT it's a "set it and forget it" type of install. You can also save big bucks on the kit and that discount gets higher if you add on an ARB compressor.

As someone recommended, for deflation the Staun tire deflators are THE go to. I've had my own set 17-18 years now and we stock them

APEX valves are superior. We’ll have all four tires aired down before people even have their four hose solution untangled.

Howdy, my old MasterFlow compressor recently went out and found a new portable compressor kit from Vevor with a nice Father's Day sale going on:
