I'm going to Sedona tomorrow with my two-door Badlands, and I don’t have a compressor. Do you have any recommendations on something I might pick up locally that will do the trick? I'm in Phoenix.

I saw that Napa has one similar to the Trickflate, and I might be able to track one of those down.
NAPA Horizontal Electric Air Compressor
I'm unsure what additional setup I would need with this, like a 2 or 4-hose setup, or if it’s OK to use straight out of the box without risk of overheating and damage.

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations on this or another model I might be able to find locally, and what hoses, adapters, etc., I might need?

I've got the Napa one and it does great by itself with the stuff it includes.
You can add the upgrades later. 👍

Have fun on your trip!

It'll have info in the box on how long to run on and off.
However, filling up a single Bronco worth of tires, you shouldn't need a cool down break unless it's like 90+ outside

Kim is right, just use it right out of the box and worry about the rest after your trip.

I use the Milwaukee Milwaukee M18 Inflator and it works great. Easy to transport and no wires. Of course, I was already standardized on the M18 battery across all my tools including the M18 chainsaw that I often take off road.

Second on Milwaukee - especially if you have other tools of theirs.

The inflator is nice, and auto-runs to a set pressure. The full blown Air Compressor is a bit larger, but it can fill tires (with a high speed chuck) in a hurry.

I got a unit from Amazon not unlike the Napa/Trickflate. It does 5.65 cfm and I have been airing up all four tires without needing to shut it off, even in hot weather. I don't even switch it off between tires--I just go from one to the next and do them all until they are all done. That is until I made my DIY 4-tire setup this year.

Since you are in a hurry, I'd grab the Napa unit now, use it right out of the box and if you think you want a 2- or 4-tire setup, make one DIY later. It's not any longer doing one tire at a time, really. I ultimately decided I liked the ease of balancing pressure of all four tires. A 4-tire DIY setup will cost about $85. Add about $15 if you don't want to sacrifice the hose that came with the compressor to use the J-type connector that connects to the compressor's outlet. If you decide to go that route, I can send you the parts I got to make my kit.

Besides saving about $100+ on DIY, you also can customize the hose lengths to exactly what you need, which also makes it easier to store. I can store my 4-tire hose in the same bag with the compressor that the original hose fit, so no extra space taken or inconvenience.

Thanks! I’d love to see your parts list and any build tips. i’m pretty good at breaking things on the first try.
