I believe my alternator is dead. Most likely water has killed another one in Bronco Land. Not doing anything I haven't done dozens of times with my FJ Cruiser. (Love my Bronco but it certainly does seem like a weak link)

I've read a lot of theories on this but wondered if anybody has personal/practical experience with a dying alternator on their 2.7 Bronco and does the dealer warranty this?
Thank you!

Chances are the dealer will not warranty it. You can try, and it depends on the dealer.

What's up buttercup (well her dad) took her alternator apart and cleaned it out and got it working again. AIG was rumored to be working on some sort of shield to try to help protect the alternator.

With talk of the alternators being on the weaker side and not able to keep up with all the electronics in the Bronco, I also was thinking maybe there is some aftermarket or rebuild outfits They can retrofit a stock alternator to deal with both issues.
