Antimatter Blue Thread

It's inevitable with a blue so dark that it will look and be referred to as black. Also inevitable that some less car savvy person will call it a Heep. Every single valet that ever parked my Cayenne checked off black on the ticket...it's blue.

Did that annoy you over time? Just curious. I could see how that would drive some guys crazy.

Annoyed me from day 1 lol. Like if you don't care enough to notice the proper color of my car how can I trust you to actually park it and not bang into shit with it

That looks like a totally different color. Almost like ford added another color to the line up. Purple? Where’s the black to blue gradient? Where’s the flake? Is the lighting playing tricks here.

Just throwing this in here from the other thread. First non-CGI look at AMB on the Bronco.

Looks exactly like I'd expect AMB to look indoors. Actually I'd say it looks a bit brighter than I thought it would be.

So i might be alone with being a fan of antimatter but being disappointed with how it turned out. Wanted to gauge the community reaction to it with a poll.


When the CGI renders came out for antimatter i fell in love. I liked how it was a dark deep blue. However with the reveal of the gas can and later other samples it turns out its VERY dark. Essentially black with blue sparkles. Now we have yet to see it in the sun on a car in various lighting conditions. All we have is this new shot.

What happened with the CG samples?

Now its very close to game time with ford. Any changes in colors will likely have to happens soon if ever.

Would you want ford to try to match the CG samples? or keep it how it is?

again this thread could be a waste of time. We could all be blown away if they put the new pre produciton in the sun. Who knows. But we should start this discussion now before it might be too late

I think I should have watermarked my screenshots, LOL!
But yeah, my thoughts exactly...... the CG color from the Ford webpage was what I wanted, the actual isn't a match.

I visited my local dealer to check out colors in-person.
This is 'Blue Diamond' on a Lincoln Navigator:

Velocity Blue on a Stang:

Empire Blue on a MKZ:

The AMB is still my top color choice, but I'm annoyed it doesn't look like what was advertised.
The 'Blue Diamond' looks closer to the webpage Bronco. Velocity is brighter, I'd likely go for the Lightning Blue if it was offered on models other than the FE.
Ford needs to fix this, and give us what was advertised..... I'll take a 'Blue Diamond' Bronco!

I was gung ho about AMB until I saw it today on the gas can in Townsend. It's dark AF! Under overcast skies it wasn't far off the black. Hmmm, this is a tough one. Maybe the green one being unveiled tomorrow will be enticing ?
