@Cameront9 brings up a good point, is there an issue in running 33" with the sasquatch gearing? I have found mixed info on that part.

You can run the calculator, do a search here for gear calculator.

4.7s are too aggressive for a 33 IMO. You aren't going to damage anything, expect your wallet at the pump.

Ford puts 4.27s in their 33" equipped Badlands, which to me is the perfect ratio for a 33. The 3.73s work great too with 33s and even up to 34s.

4.70s are great for 35s and 37s.

Non-Sas Badlands in the 7mt comes with the Squatch 4.70 gears on 33's from the factory. A bit over-geared for the 33s IMO but certainly acceptable.

Was it always like that? Or is it a new change for MY24?

Always that way, one of the reasons I went no-squatch n saved $4k at the time.

I have to disagree with you on the gearing (at least for the manual 7 speed). If anything, 6th gear is a bit too tall for the stock 315/70R17 tires on the 'Squatch. On flat ground with no wind, 6th gear works OK, but add a slight incline or a little wind, and you're back in 5th. Proof is in the pudding when you watch the instant fuel economy screen. 5th gear will get better mileage than 6th with the big tires and wheels and the engine isn't working near as hard.

Before and after pics. Most of the time, I'm running a Nitto G2 in 295/70R18, but I decided to run a different size after last winter. I don't know if it was the tire itself (design/pattern) or the width, but they didn't perform well in heavy wet snow.
I switched to a 255/80R17 in a Falken Wildpeak AT3W for this winter. I lost some diameter (34.2" vs 33.1") and reduced the tread width by quite a bit. The smaller tires don't look as good as the main set, but I expect they will work quite a bit better in the deep wet snow we have to deal with. My other motivation for the slightly smaller diameter was so that I could clear snow chains without any issues.

Sorry, the pics got put in reverse order. The lower pic is the 34.2" and the upper pic is the 33.1". I should know in the next 3-4 weeks if I made the right choice when we head to our late season hunt in Idaho.

I have 255/80/17s on my Ranger with Sasquatch wheels.

They are too wide, the tire doesn’t have enough of a ballon look.

Stick to 8” wide or less for 255s.

285/70/17s on a 9” work surprisingly well.

No it’s fine. Ford offers 4.46 with 33s on the Badlands.

Unrelated to the tires, do you have a build thread?
