Auto Stop/Start Disable (Trailer Tester Method Confirmed)

I confirmed today that inserting a trailer tester ($3.99) into the trailer wiring harness DOES DISABLE AUTO STOP/START. However, most of us will choose not to use this method because it also disables Rear Park Aid, Blind Spot Alert and Cross Traffic Alert.

Can you try holding down the dash mounted disable button while starting the vehicle. The dash button has to be manually engaged to disable on an each time you run basis but if you can bypass the switch itself you might be able to permanently turn off the gas-saving feature,

It is annoying since this vehicle does not also include an auto-hold on the brakes like my BMW X4 has
