I'm contemplating deleting the aux switches and I'm wondering if that might speed up my build date.

Anyone?

Thanks!

I have no idea. Last year my dealer told me they were a constraint. So I ordered without them. I haven't seen anyone else say it was a problem for them. I've been on dirt mountain since January. I'm sure that's not the holdup though. But someday I'll get my Bronco without switches and be pissed about it. šŸ˜’

They are my only option (2dr base model) and I ordered first week of Oct 2021, still no hint of a build date!

The aux switches are cheap add for what they are but I've been thinking I'll get a lot more use from the sun glasses holder, and maybe get my bronco sooner??

It's not a hold up. Yes I love the glasses holder also but it's so much cheaper and easier to have the switches put in at build time.
If you're never going to use the switches then you have your answer.

just order the switches... your future self will thank you....
Agree 100%.
There were 2 things that was a "no brainer" when we ordered our OBX.
Aux. switches for $195 and the 4.27's w/ rear locker for $795.

I think the fact that yours is a 2 door May be the issue more than the Aux Switches. If you remotely think you may use them, definitely keep them. Removing them I donā€™t think will move your build time up.

The delays caused by corporate incompetence
Iā€™m not going to argue against the mismanagement of this thatā€™s for sure. Iā€™ve got a rig that was on Ice Mountain and has been built since 3/6 that still hasnā€™t shipped and Iā€™m 3 1/2 hours from MAP. Frustrated as ll get out.

Keep the switches. You will be happy that you did.

If you're never going to use the switches then you have your answer.

I agree the switches are an absolute no brainer.

But, since placing the order last Oct I still have not come up with a single item that I'd would need those switches for.

1. I do want amber driving lights but they will be wired off a relay to come on with the vehicle, no switch needed.

2. Midland GMRS radio, also wired off a relay to come on with the vehicle, no switch needed.

3. Dashcam, wired off a relay to come on when the vehicle is on, no switch.

4. If my future self wants a winch which I really doubt, it would be wired to the battery with a relay and also would not use one of the aux switches.

5. I firmly do not want any accessory LED lights or light bar or anything like that. I think they mess of the clean looks of the vehicle. And those types of accessories are not my personality. Never happen sort of thing!

6. THE ONE item that I might want in the future is an onboard air compressor. Can I find a way to do this under the hood with a switch mounted somewhere that makes sense, probably.

So it comes to eye glasses holder vs "slight possibility" for using one of the aux switches for an onboard air compressor? But I think that switch is so easily dealt with that I don't think I'd like to give up the glasses holder for it.

I wear glasses and currently keep a glasses case in my cup holder and would love to eliminate that clutter item. I switch from eye glasses to prescription sun glasses often so having the glasses holder would be used almost daily.
