Oh this totally makes sense. I guess I'm the dude who never repairs his chipped windshield
Everyone wants to be that dude! For the rest of us . . . I'd much rather go to the local Safelite whenever possible or have them come out to me as 2nd choice but sometimes neither of those are options. For less than $20 it's not a bad thing to add to one's gear bag.

Excellent photos! Very inspiring (will be starting my first overland adventure once the bronco is built and set up). Thank you for the honest pros and cons and for sharing your adventure with us
I actually camped in mine. Picked up an iceco fridge, made a rear platform that makes the seats even with the cargo area, which also created storage area for my table and some of my gear. Used an Exped lxw sleeping mat. It was awesome. Slept great. Had plenty of room.

OP you have a great eye, beautiful photos. What are you using to take them, looks too good to be a phone?
Thank you. I really appreciate that.
I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro. It’s been awesome for photos. It doesn’t have a great zoom, but it does awesome Daytime and low light photos if you have a steady hand!

Love the grey! We always buy white/silver/grey/black cars....this time I chose the blue Bronco, and my wife chose the green Hellcat, lol. We both stepped out of our "norm" on these, lol. Not going to lie, I prefer the bronco over the hellcat, usually. It's just more enjoyable to drive down here by the beach, and stress free parking.

Yeah add it to the ever growing gear bag.

That is super! I recently bought a pop up tent thinking I might not fit sleeping in the 2 door (my plans include a dog!) but certainly worth a try. Not sure if you saw my last question— do you think a non Sasquatch black diamond with 34 or 35 inch wheels /1” body lift can handle the trails you rode?

I'm not the OP but just a tip - I use the TrailsOffroad app and it has tons of trails listed with descriptions, GPX files, photos, maps, ratings, etc. I find it to be super handy. Not sure if the trail that OP took is listed on there though. It costs me like $30/yr.

The descent from bronco knoll was the toughest section of trail that i did. All of the Colorado passes were easy in my book. I did 95% of everything in 2wd. Sometimes i used the rear locker in 2wd, but it’s impressive what it will do without even using 4wd.
You should be fine!

Fantastic pics and you are using your Bronco the way one should be used!

I‘m just 6000 miles into my VB OBX SAS 4door 2.7L. Drove the forest trail along the spine of the Santa Ynez mountains north of Montecito and Santa Barbara this last weekend, between the big rain storms. She handled the mud and puddles as well as the rocks and branches that had been swept onto the Camino Cielo beautifully. Ocean, beaches and islands to one side, mountains and forest to the other.

I haven’t had any warranty issues, or issues at all. Not a fan of the stereo but I get the high package instead of Lux because I knew I’d do my own later. I don’t mind the soft top…being in Arizona mine is down most of the time.

I encourage everyone to get out and use their Bronco’s! There is too much cool stuff in this country to just sit at home.
Are you retired? Some of us have to work to pay for our rigs….lol. Great post

What date range did you do Imogene pass with snow tops? Were the other major trails still open in the area?

October 11th, 2022. There were definitely some sketchy spots.
