Best sounding aftermarket exhaust for 2.7L ?

While I wait forever for my 2.7L WT, one of the first mods I'd like to make is install an aftermarket exhaust that sounds better than the stock.

Curious what others think who have installed or plan to replaced the exhaust.

1. Your thoughts on which aftermarket exhaust sounds better on a 2.7L
2. Have you experiencef any issues with torque or HP?
3. Is a tuneup needed after install?
4. Pros and cons of having a Ford dealer install it vs shop with speciality in this...I won't be installing it myself.
5. Any videos you can share for 2.7L?

1) Corsa all the way
2) There will be no issues
3) No
4) Only con is price; Ford dealer will be really expensive.

1. Depends on how loud you want to be. MRT's Trail Rated systems give you a nice bump over stock where the King Of The Hill options will give you a larger increase in exhaust presence.

2. Exhaust mods rarely create more power just by themselves. It used to be you could change up the exhaust on a older car and it would be a totally different beast but modern vehicles do not see a large jump in performance just from an exhaust. However upgrading your exhaust will free up flow making it easier for the engine and turbo to breath. It will allow you to take advantage of more HP gains if you do the Ford Calibration/tune or other powertrain upgrades.

3. No you will not need a tune up.

4. I can speak for MRT's lineup which all can be installed in as little as 20-30 minutes. You will have good luck with either the Ford Dealer or a specialty shop. I know some other systems on the market are more labor intensive requiring the rear bumper to be removed for installation. MRT's systems use factory hang points and have no need for any modification or disassembly of your Bronco.

I went with the Flowmaster American Thunder axle back.
Simple install
Good sound
Great price
They claim a 19hp gain
No droning at highway speeds.
Plus the tail pipe is slightly tucked up under just a little more. Some of the available exhausts out there, especially dual exh set ups, protrude past and lower than the bumper. If you ask me, an off-road vehicle might want more clearance. My wife likes it too.

None. It's a V6. You can't make the 2.7L sound good. You can make it louder, but it won't sound good. Expect 0 HP/TQ gain. Save your money.

AWE make a great exhaust. Definitely should be on your short list if your looking for an exhaust.
