Because they've almost certainly already invested a huge amount of money into marketing and an announcement; they're not going to throw that away because few car nerds on some web forums have seen some leaked photos. (Just speaking from experience, it's my line of work.)
I know, but its gotten a lot further than just us nerds on a little forum. literally millions have now seen it. even my mother in law. She doesn't give a hoot about the automotive world, has seen it online.

The Hummer was killed off, and we don't really know what this new one is going to be yet, it could be a bronco competitor or just a cybertruck/Rivian competitor it's a wait and see on that one buddy
I totally agree, just making a joke ;)

My guess is it’s going to be going after the G-wagon, Land Rover, luxury SUV market as well.

? flares were an aftermarket thing, as was cutting the rear fender. I'm fine with flares to go wider than stock, just saying that stock should take up every bit of available width, this is one of the great things about the EB over the CJ at the time.
I am aware of the flares on the EB. It is how most of them look, if you've seen one driving around. There are a few LUBRs around, but most people I've seen have some type of flare like that, including mine. It's not round, though.

I don't get the purpose of them? Are they for the Land Roverish branch protectors?
Wranglers have a tie down on the hood too. This is just the bronco take on it. It’s a unique look for a functional piece so I like it. Also seems more secure than the wranglers since the handles/tie downs are to inner structure rather that just the hood sheet metal.

Compared to, say, a Defender 110.
By almost every estimate it is a few inches shorter than the 2020 Defender 110 which is the proper comparison here, and only a few inches longer than the 110" which gave the original its name. Kind of like the Wrangler, though it may even be slightly shorter than that

Defender has a longer wheelbase than the JLU...

Assuming that Ford is targeting the JLU specs across the board (with the exception of the SFA), I could never see them straying to far from those benchmarks. Let alone far enough away for them to be considered "hilariously bad".

Ford should just update their website, "well, the horse got out of the stable, here it is! Specs and official reveal coming soon."
Lol that's hilarious! They should do the reveal in a stable and low and behold its empty! then the camera zooms off into the distance and its just blasting away through the wilderness "oh well, what can ya do" Would make a funny commercial too

Edit: Maybe they should just have the top sitting there in the stable as the Bronco runs wild topless "here we go again"

There is a metal loop in the middle of the windshield header which corresponds- this is where you strap the windshield when folded down with Velcro straps. Not sure it is solid enough for a canoe or kayak tie down: at least I never used it to tie a top load down.

I like the handles. Works for limb risers if you build an overland rig or for long roof load tie downs. I would expect there will be the ability to remove them either OEM accessory or aftermarket.
