Here are a few pics of how 4600 team Kraker Fab Motorsports has dealt with making a stronger steering system.

Josh Atteberry and his Kraker Fab Motorsports team replaced the rack with a double ended hydraulic ram that is mechanically connected to a steering gear box. Pretty unique idea. The 3 factory Broncos used a Trophy Truck rack, so this is trying something new.

They are also using the 74Weld portal hubs that the factory Broncos used.

Here's a couple pics of 2 of the builds stripped down. Looks like they are planning to run without the hardtops. No Ford sponsorship to be concerned with, and so how they look.

Are they just using the hydraulic ram as a linear bearing, and all steering power comes from the steering box? Super interesting!

Here are a few pics of how 4600 team Kraker Fab Motorsports has dealt with making a stronger steering system. After King of the Hammers last year Ford sold 3 KOH teams a preproduction Bronco, that would normally be crushed, for a dollar. If all three teams get their Broncos finished and make it to the race, then there would be six Broncos racing this year in 4600 stock class. Assuming the three Factory Broncos also run this year.

That's full hydro steer with a steering box for passing tech. I bet the pitman arm with be bent within the first mile of the race(looks like its designed that way). Makes me want to go to KOH.
I'm guessing that is a mock up or a partially complete steering arm. Final arm will most likely be boxed in and double sheer on that joint.

That will be a great show if all 6 make it. Looking forward to seeing it in person!

Smaller than a superduty gear, I wonder what they are using. If I were going to the trouble of adding the RCB gear I would consider a beefy parallel linkage and skip on the rack. Both superduty and GM HD have parallel links that are very stout and might be able to be retrofitted.

That's my guess, too. Looks like a hydro assist setup with a mocked up pitman arm. People do crazy things to get around rules but intending to have a bent up steering arm right below the oil pan seems too risky so I'm doubting that is the plan but we'll see!
