I was just wondering what parts are constructed of aluminum and what are steel? I bought a 2016 F150 a few years ago because I hate rust with a passion (I know it has a steel frame and lots of other steel components that rust but at least its not the body like my 97 F250). I ended up trading the F150 on a Base Sasquatch and the thought of rust is in the back of my mind. As soon as it shows up I plan on getting it under coated with an oil based product. All I have found online is its a mix of steel and aluminum panels

Get a magnet and a soft cloth. If it don't stick,...it's aluminum. If it sticks,.. it's ferrous. 🤷‍♂️

Ford hasn't released such information yet. As far as we know it's entirely boron.

Hey, sorry, small update. I did a forum search for thread titles containing the following words and on page 1 of the results I found information on the aluminum used, where it's placed and also frame supports.

  1. aluminum
  2. aluminum
  3. aluminum
  4. Al you minimum
