Can start the Bronco just fine when I'm in it, but no dice on any of the buttons away from it.

Could I have accidentilly locked its use somehow? Only had it for two weeks, can't imagine both fobs would've gone bad that fast. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance. (pretty sure I did something dumb.)

Update -- the remote start feature works. But nada on the unlock or lock buttons.

Did your dealer install one of those (stupid) security systems that they try to charge you a bunch of money for? Mine did and it caused some issues with my keyfob door locking when I disabled it (since I refused to pay for it). Might be worth checking that if they installed one...

Don’t believe so… drives just fine, remote start works, worked for last two weeks, since I got it.

wondering if I just hit a key combo that locked it out. Reading the manual, but no such luck so far.

Allegedly, if you pull the liner out of the center console, there is a spot for the fob Have no idea of the magic it can do. May be worth a try...

Thanks, but the manual says that’s just to start the vehicle if the fob’s battery is dead. Both of my fobs just don’t lock/unlock.

Try looking in your settings, you may have disabled something by accident. Or.... take it to the dealer. Have you made an appointment already?

I did confirm neither fob has become a mykey. Haven’t called the dealer yet.

Do you have a door keypad? I read somewhere that if you use the keypad to lock it, your remotes are disabled until you unlock it with the keypad. Cannot verify that rumor though.

I do have the keypad - I’ll mess around with that, thanks.

Just tried that. Unlocked the Bronco with the fob from the house. Left the key fob in the house and then locked the Bronco using the keypad. Went back into the house and was able to unlock the Bronco using the fob.

Also, I use the key pad a lot and have never run into issues with the fob not working.

I know a lot of the guys hate the key pads but I haven’t had a Ford anything in the last 15+ years that didn’t have one. I use it all the time.

So that might be it. Holding the 7-8 and 9-0 doesn’t lock it, regardless of whether the fob is near or not.

I am sure you checked this but did you try changing the battery?
