Over the past year, I have been hiding in the background admiring everyone's postings of their fantastic Broncos. I thought I would share.

What I spend too much time obsessing over: a '22 OB in and a '90 Bronco II. There is no comparison in the rides but I love them both nonetheless. Thanks for letting me share!

That's a nice pair of Bronco's you got there. Thank you for sharing! And for being a part of the Ford family. :)

You sure about that? The 1990 also has the dana 35 front end...ive seen a nice 4.0 at the dealership years ago....i guess it was a swap? Also some could be ordered (through dealers) with a soft top.

100% sure. But yes, the Dana 35 was a rare option on some 1990's, there were also some fake dana 35's with Dana 28 guts. The models with the Dana 35 also came with the bw1354 transfer case, which didnt have the stupid front slip yoke. The 4.0L was never an option though.

I loved my late 80's BII and like a fool (If I knew then what I know now!) traded it in on a brand new 03 Frontier supercharged 4X4.
Thought at the time it was nice to get a few bucks (like $1500 trade in) for it and have my first brand new vehicle. It was maybe 80% as nice as this one you have, burgundy with burgundy interior (wayyyy too much of the same color), 5sp 2.9L.
Would not make that mistake twice now that I know what I know.

I had a 1988 Eddie Bauer Bronco II 5-speed in dark green/tan. Loved that car. Biggest flaws = 140hp and dangerously tippy dual I-beam front suspension)

I wish I had pictures of my two Bronco II’s. 88 and 90, both manual 2.7z. Other than being a little “Light Duty” to mod I loved mine. Thanks for sharing!!!!

I had a 1988 Bronco II and loved it.. That little thing went through just about anything. The only thing I didnt like about it was the manual lock outs...
My 88 Eddie Bauer had the push button 4wd. But you had to go into reverse to get it back into 2wd.

I had that same Bronco II... it had some weird hesitation/stall that would randomly kick in when I would be accelerating to merge onto a highway. Never was able to fix the issue.

You could shift in or out of 4x4 on the fly, you only had to back up to unlock the hubs at the end of your 4x4 excursion,. The first shift into 4x4 could be violent, so I always did it slow before I needed 4x4, then left hubs in until I was done with 4x4 for the day.

A used 84' bronco II was my first car. I'll always have a good appreciation for them.
An '84 Bronco II was my first car as well. I can't wait for my next car to arrive and to be a Bronco driver again. Someday. Someday. 'Til then, I'll just bask in this nostalgia...

First, those are nice looking Bronco’s And it’s got to feel good to have them side by side in your driveway. My experience with a 1984 Bronco ll was a nightmare. I owned it eighteen months before it almost killed my family , when the drivetrain locked up and the boat I was towing came through the back glass and the trailer tongue was sitting between my wife and I. luckily ours sons were sleeping and laying down. I had drivetrain issues from day one and ford had all the records. it was six months outside the lemon law.. Congrats to ford they stepped up and put us in a new extended cab F 150. We are a three generation Ford family and my Bronco II was the only real major issue we had with a ford vehicle. I still have my 1968 ford galaxie and enjoy driving. Thanks for sharing your pics.

I love this thread, thanks for starting it! 1990 Bronco II was my first car. I was a senior in high school and my parents surprised me with it (they bought it used with 160K miles on it). Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore, so I can't post a side-by-side.
