Bronco keeps throwing Hood Latch Alarm

Let's say I have a friend with also a Badlands that has a recurring problem with a hood latch alarm going off by accident . All kidding aside, it is really for a friend but he isn't on the forum so thought I would ask for him. Today it went off twice back to back early in the AM while vehicle was locked and secure. It had done this previously in the past month (he has only had it 2 months so not good odds). Anyone had a recurring problem like this and if so, what did you do or find out about it. Personally, I didnt even know it had a hoot latch alarm.

Happens to mine more often than I'd like; almost daily, same issue.

It's a glitch, but not sure what to do about it. Haven't read anything about a solution or even something that the dealership can fix just yet.

Funny, just went off outside. I have to keep my keys close at all times. starting to become rediculus now.

The hood stops helped to reduce the number of times the hood alarm has gone off but didn’t stop it for me.

I messaged @Ford Motor Company directly and now the hood alarm hasn’t gone off in 3 weeks. It maybe a software or sensor adjustment not sure.

Dealer adjusted my latch to be loose (hood flapped up and down at highway speeds). Still was going off randomly. I told them it was still happening and the hood was now too loose, they ordered a new latch/sensor and replaced it. Hood is now tight (normal tightness) and no alarms anymore. I say to replace the latch/sensor to properly fix it.

I sort of throw my hood down, it's a bit aggressive and I might break something eventually but it works.

Not always, mine are all the way down. Still get them every couple weeks and Ford won't do anything because there isn't a TSB. Corporate told me to try another dealer but that's a 2 hour drive.

Is there any other way to get it to shut completely. I have to give it a very heavy drop and my hood stops are all the way down.

Still get hood open alarms every 2-3 weeks. Dealers says "can't duplicate".

I would raise the stops as high as possible while still allowing hood to close.
Then i would clean the sensor.
Then i would adjust the latch if that didn't work.

Where exactly are the hood stops. I dont want to mess with the hood alignment but if thats the fix then thats the fix. Mine badlands also does this. Its not frequent but it happens atleast once a week.

Will the alarm keep going off until you go and stop it? Or does it stop after a bit?

Ok... following this thread.. My 23 Badlands just started this... and other gremlins

hood alarm 3 times
door alarm 2 times (no one even close to the bronco)
back seat belt alarm once (no one in the back seat)

Got a call into the dealer and while nice such a new vehicle likely to have issues they either don't know about or know about but don't know how to fix yet so avoid

My guess is something to do with the recent update... but I can't hardly even work my cell phone so take that with a grain of salt

This has been debunked. I’ve tried this, along with cleaning the latch sensor, disconnecting battery for 30 min, and none of it works. I work at a dealership as a sales manager, and our service manager is aware there is a rising number of these issues. Waiting to get new latch/sensor. Will keep you updated if it indeed fixes issues!

Call your dealer. I typed up a long thing about it I got this from another member.

Remember. We still love our broncos. We all are suffering from first world problems.
