a safety rating is not a requirement for sale in the US. there are some safety requirements, but the safety rating is not a requirement. it is used as much as a sales tool as anything else. i seriously doubt ferrari has provided too many of their cars to be crashed. neither has porsche, but i would trust the survivability of a porsche over most domestic cars. so i would concur with the previous comment of "does it matter?" it seems like sales are easily outpacing production, so there is no real reason to send any out to be destroyed. as far as the crash bars go, ford decided they were a prudent addition, so for safety reasons, perhaps they should be kept. but the there are some who don't wear seatbelts...

This thread reminds me I never checked out the safety rating on my Indians.
Hope it’s almost as good as a high center of gravity removable top vehicle.

Prius has a better rating than a Ford Expedition, but, which one would you choose to be in if they collided.

Physics are not just a recommendation, it's the law. :ROFLMAO:

So to further this conversation, what do the crash bars actually do? Is there a solution for the Sasquatch package available that doesn’t compromise any safety precautions by this missing piece?

I am trying to minimize being a position to have my leg amputated
The crash bars are high strength steel bars that prevent the tire/wheel intrusion into the footwell area of the passenger compartment. Crash bars are especially important when it comes to the small overlap test as the tire and wheel seem to transfer a lot of energy in that type of crash.

I hope you're joking here :D. I mean we all know the Wrangler isn't the safest of vehicles and are hoping the Bronco does better.
My insurance rated my Wrangler for high safety and my insurance was less because of that. I hope my Bronco gets the same high safety rating but will probably get dinged for easy theft ability! LOL

Okay, I searched before I posted a new thread, so give me some slack here.

Have the ratings came out? I haven't seen them on the iihs.org website and any ratings are just for the Bronco Sport not the full size.
