So I was super pumped once I got my build date production email from Ford last year. I was one of the lucky 1085 customers to have their Bronco produced during the 3/14/22 build week. Things were looking good. I even made a few purchases from Amazon, RTR, and other vendors in anticipation of "Mods" that I would soon be making to my 2022 Bronco. I knew it would take at least 6-8 weeks before I saw the actual car so I tried to not get too excited. I was able to secure a loan check from my credit union at an APR of 1.9% which was higher than any other amount I'd ever financed but reasonable. The check and rate were good and locked in for 90 days from the date of issuance. I was all set! All I needed was the car........

Well, I'm here to tell you that I've now received 13 emails from FORD MOTOR COMPANY that my vehicle arriving date has been pushed back. Coming up on a year since the vehicle was built. My 90 day check has long since expired and low and behold interest rates have changed. The Ford representatives are very pleasant when I talk to them citing plausible reasons for the delay, such as, ...."They can't find a convoy/truck to ship it on" or "they just don't have the chips to finish it". My salesperson at the dealership is pleasant but has nothing more to add as he knows nothing more than I do and "his hands are tied".

My question is what is the current fate of my 2022 "built awaiting shipment" combustion engine automobile. Presumably it's endured the late winter of 2022 in a parking lot at MAP in Michigan. Maybe covered in snow and ice. Wheels exposed to the elements getting lot rot. MIC hard top protecting the fresh interior from the spring 2022 winds, and rain. Not to mention the harsh summer 2022 UV rays causing the MIC top to fade . Maybe oil and gasoline sits in the unfired engine oxidizing and turning into a liquid goo rather than a smooth gliding lubricant. At least the battery is protected from these Winter 2023 temps and tucked under the hood. I'm sure it will start right up when they load it onto the convoy truck......well, if and when they can actually find a convoy truck that is.

I'm sure there are many others out there in the exact same situation as me, but really Ford? Your building cars and letting them sit for over a year before following through with delivery telling customers you cant find a convoy truck to deliver them? In the words of Randy Moss....., "Come on Man"

*** Sorry OP.... Guess I didn't read a close enough... Your Bronco was built a year ago and you're still waiting then my response does not apply...WTF Ford??? ***

Not to be one of "those people" But there really are several threads about this very topic.

Even once Ford builds and releases a vehicle, it's sits waiting for its turn to be loaded onto a truck or a train that are in very limited supply.

And to throw some extra salt into that wound, even once it gets loaded on the train car and looks like it's moving, it's not because it actually sits in a rail yard waiting for an actual long haul engine.

Sum are lucky and get their Broncos within a week.... Many have to wait the full average which is 2 to 3 months.

If you got your Bronco build with the options you wanted, consider yourself lucky.

I mean there are other threads but I don't think anyone has waiting this long to be shipped. I though the twoish month wait we went through was rough but that was a nap in comparison.

Wondering if OP has taken any steps to get this escalated.

IE. contacting corporate, ranting to the dealer daily, driving over to MAP and picketing.

That really hurts and I would be pushing for as much detail as possible. It is crazy to be out a year. After that long my suspicion would be that it has gotten forgotten and you are just getting automated delay emails. Maybe it was shipped and ended up someplace or lost on the lot.

My Bronco Base was also had a scheduled build date of 3/14/22, but I got bumped twice to an April build then bumped up and built 3/28. It took 3 months for mine to ship. I would swear they had an last in first out shipping plan for the lot so if you got buried behind newer vehicles they never got to the ones deeper in the lot. Just speculation based on nothing other than newer builds getting delivered and mine still sitting.

Mine arrived a month after it was in the "Built" status. A week and a half to get it onto a train. Took a week and a half to get from MAP to a Los Angeles railyard where it sat for 11 days before it was taken to the dealer. They're definitely waiting on parts for something if it has almost been a year. There is probably a thread for your build week with people still waiting if they have similarly constrained builds. See if someone on there is still posting.

Wow! This has to be the longest wait and deserves its own thread contrary to what another poster said. You have definitely been forgotten, lost, or some other terrible scenario. Surprised you have not called/emailed Jim Farley's executive assistant daily.

Queue the @Ford Motor Company intern...get your VIN ready.

What a letdown. I could not even imagine getting 13 e-mails stating a delay, after being built! You are very patient.

Mine was "built" for 4mo before it shipped. The only thing Ford customer service would tell me is it was a plant hold. They said it coulda been anything from waiting for a part to available shipping but they didnt have definite answer. Once it went to shipped it took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Don't disagree that peoples wait is a well documented issue, but built and now sitting for almost a year? Haven't seen that happen much.

I'm a Ford dealer and based on my experience, in the past 6 months most Broncos, even if they were put on chip hold would have shipped out within a month of being built. Your dealer can check VINView for any trends of progression on your build. I also recommend that you reach out to your Sales Manager, and have them reach out to their assigned Sales and Inventory specialist for more insight.

You, sir, have the patience of Job.

A few weeks and some are getting irritated. A few months and most are raising hell. But a YEAR?!?!?!

How can you not be demanding an investigation by now? And, after not receiving a satisfactory explanation to said investigation - be ready to walk?

You’re vehicle will be a year old the day you buy it. And from then until forever, it will be always a “year older in value” than what it actually is.

No way I’d accept that Bronco now without an apology and some serious Ford points to back that up.

OP, as much as I hate to say it, I believe it is time to move on. Your Bronco fell through the cracks somehow or other, and you are not getting it. And as you rightly point out, would you even want a vehicle that has sat idle for a year with all that is entailed as described so elegantly by yourself, and is now the previous model year?

Go to your dealer and have him find you another Bronco as close as possible to your build, and have them make you a deal on it. They should at the very least be as accommodating as they can be considering your situation. I know it is not your Bronco build, but I think the sooner you realize yours aint happening, the sooner you will be able to make sound decisions to ensure a different Bronco does end up in your driveway. Lots of guys on here have taken the bird in the hand vs. the 2 in the bush and been happy they did so.

Just my 2 cents.

Early on when production first started and Ford started sending out updates I said not to give it much weight and not to get worked up about it. However Ford is tying these updates to the production system hasn't and still isn't working.

The fact is vehicles are getting built and held for various reasons. We can look at the new VIN View and it will show where it's at, may have a reason it's being held (chip, damage, trim, whatever) or it may not. Updates to the system happen and a notification goes out when something takes place with the vehicle (back at plant, moved to shipping area, etc).

Some dealers may have insiders that can tell them what's going on with a specific vehicle, why it's held, when it's supposed to ship but for the majority of us, Ford has a firewall that keeps us from getting these specific questions answered. Yes, there's an issue with transportation. Yes, they have vehicles built that are waiting for a part(s) to be installed. No, they aren't going to give you any more information than what we can see in VIN View.

Because the notification system doesn't have better controls, it's making Ford and the dealers look incompetent and pisses customers off because they they think the wait is nearly over when it really isn't. While this is super frustrating, the best thing to do at this point is just chill and wait. There's no one to contact "up the ladder" that's going to get your vehicle to you any quicker than however long it takes. IMO, Ford should take the notification system down until they figure out how to give accurate updates with a high degree of accuracy. Believe me, I've gone as far up as I could with my region to get help on vehicles being held and they can't do anything either.
