So I was super pumped once I got my build date production email from Ford last year. I was one of the lucky 1085 customers to have their Bronco produced during the 3/14/22 build week. Things were looking good. I even made a few purchases from Amazon, RTR, and other vendors in anticipation of "Mods" that I would soon be making to my 2022 Bronco. I knew it would take at least 6-8 weeks before I saw the actual car so I tried to not get too excited. I was able to secure a loan check from my credit union at an APR of 1.9% which was higher than any other amount I'd ever financed but reasonable. The check and rate were good and locked in for 90 days from the date of issuance. I was all set! All I needed was the car........
Well, I'm here to tell you that I've now received 13 emails from FORD MOTOR COMPANY that my vehicle arriving date has been pushed back. Coming up on a year since the vehicle was built. My 90 day check has long since expired and low and behold interest rates have changed. The Ford representatives are very pleasant when I talk to them citing plausible reasons for the delay, such as, ...."They can't find a convoy/truck to ship it on" or "they just don't have the chips to finish it". My salesperson at the dealership is pleasant but has nothing more to add as he knows nothing more than I do and "his hands are tied".
My question is what is the current fate of my 2022 "built awaiting shipment" combustion engine automobile. Presumably it's endured the late winter of 2022 in a parking lot at MAP in Michigan. Maybe covered in snow and ice. Wheels exposed to the elements getting lot rot. MIC hard top protecting the fresh interior from the spring 2022 winds, and rain. Not to mention the harsh summer 2022 UV rays causing the MIC top to fade . Maybe oil and gasoline sits in the unfired engine oxidizing and turning into a liquid goo rather than a smooth gliding lubricant. At least the battery is protected from these Winter 2023 temps and tucked under the hood. I'm sure it will start right up when they load it onto the convoy truck......well, if and when they can actually find a convoy truck that is.
I'm sure there are many others out there in the exact same situation as me, but really Ford? Your building cars and letting them sit for over a year before following through with delivery telling customers you cant find a convoy truck to deliver them? In the words of Randy Moss....., "Come on Man"
