Cargo space is a premium for me and this is my plan. 3 teenage kids and a wife requires some storage. If roof rack is not an option, consider this. I do plan on modifying to swing down in order to accommodate the rear door.

Any holes in my plan?
Thats nice ,800.00 though oh boy go to your local community college and weld one up your self ,it wont be tig welded but mig is fine and ya did it yourself maybe 150 ,200 bucks👍

Ppl complaining about price and buying on Amazon are the same ones complaining about offshoring jobs.

It appears to be quality craftsmanship and durable. Every product I have purchased for last 10 years has been made in USA, if it’s possible. Most times it is and unfortunately it costs more, but have not been disappointed yet. I was tired of cheaper made products, mostly from China. It’s mostly a personal commitment on my part. I am sure there might be a comparison that’s close in quality and cheaper but when it comes to being in a remote location, I will pay the asking price in this case for USA made. Company seems solid.

Can you open the tailgate? If you have a hard top can you literally not open your back for a dog?

I mean you do you, but,
it’s Aluminum too; very light.
And doesn’t rattle ONE bit.
And holds over 500lbs easy.
And is the best, by a mile and a half.

The pakmule is leaps and bounds ahead of every other option I've ever used.

If the $150 unit from Harbor Freight makes you happy, then I encourage you NOT to buy the pakmule. You will probably not appreciate the quality and durability.

If you're bothered by the sagging, bouncing and generally poor construction or want to be sure your expensive cooler/gear doesn't find it's way to the ground, look no further than the pakmule.

My yeti full of ice and beer set that far behind the vehicle would make the Bronco look like a low rider in the back lol

I got rear ended with my pakmule . Let’s just say it really messed up the guys car and the pakmule is still holding strong with no damage what so ever.
I was wondering about this. Do you guys tie anything bright to it so people notice it and don’t hit it or does it not stick out far enough for that to really be an issue? I guess if you have enough stuff in it, they’d hopefully see it.

States have varying rules regarding loads beyond vehicles. DOT is a good rule of thumb. Most racks have marker light adapter kits.

There is seriously no substitute for a Pakmule. The quality is far superior. Gold standard of hitch baskets. The Swayback one has a low enough top edge to fit under the spare tire swinging by.
It is the first thing that gets attached to my 2 door when it gets home.
Can't you just get a drop hitch??
