I'll second that...although not for MA plates. I've never bought a car out of state so the process isnt as spelled out as if you were buying in state.

chapman will give you temp tags. Here in Maryland you take the sales receipt to the DMV and pay 6% sales tax even if you bought it in another state in order to get tags. Its probably similar in MA.

Although not impossible, MA is a state where it's difficult to get plates for out of state sales, whether new or used. Chapman can either use a DMV broker for an additional fee or just simply send you off with a Temp Tag from PA & have you register the vehicle yourself. It may even be quicker to do yourself..

Yes, you will be able to pay your NY DMV fees via Credit/Debit. I do not recall NY DMV charging a Convenience fee for using CC/Debit transactions. I registered a new to me vehicle 2 months ago and did not get hit with a convenience or surcharge. To be on the safe side, call your local DMV or stop in and ask them.

They added the sales tax for my home state (SC). They had all of the paperwork for my state ready to go. And had a temporary tag already on my Bronco.
