Does anyone know what the correct tire pressure for a 35-12.5 R20 tire. The tires says max pressure is 65 psi but I would never. I’m putting wheels and tires on a 4 door black Diamond but they came inflated with 35psi which I think is too low! What’s the right pressure?

What rating are they C, D, E? 35 is probably about right

I ran my 35s at different PSIs: I went from 28, 32, and 40

I found that 32 was more comfortable on the bumps, and fuel economy sucked like usual 😂 😬

Also, for the future, usually - the smaller the tire = higher PSI and larger the tire = lower PSI; It isn't exact, because it can be down to the wall strength or the style of tire overall. I had a customer take delivery of their Bronco, and immediately let the air out to 28psi in the parking lot lol.

I would go to the manufacturer website and see what they recommend

I’d do 32 to 36 for normal driving. Broncos and 34 cold, 37 hot right now. Burban with 22’s is at 32 cold 35 hot. That’s my comfort zone for my ride.

It's not the size of the tire that determines the correct air pressure, lots of things go into what works best - bias ply or radial, load range, size of the wheel, beadlock or not, weight of the vehicle, wheelbase, track, center of gravity, front or rear, independent or solid axles, etc, etc.

Check the decal on the inside of the driver's door jamb of the vehicle, or the owner's manual for manufacturer's recommended pressures. Start with those (checked on cold tires), then adjust to see what works best for your particular vehicle and driving style.

Max pressure is just that - MAXIMUM pressure. The only time you should run that is when the vehicle is loaded to it's maximum carrying capacity.

MOST IMPORTANT- door tag is ONLY for the exact size tire listed on the sticker and is based on GVWR. Every size tire has a different load rating for a particular PSI. First, what is the weight of your vehicle? The real weight. Some of you are hauling some + size Americans and need a higher rating, and some aren't. My Bronco is without doors, top, back seat, and other parts and usually only has me. I have no reason to inflate to GVWR.

Use a load range table from any tire manufacturer. I prefer Toyo's table as it has instructions for those who don't know, but any will do.
Application of Load Inflation Tables Version 2020-7 (toyotires.com)

In general, less sidewall takes more pressure and rides harsher.

For example:
35X12.50R17 35psi 2405lbs rating
35x12.50R20 35psi 2095lbs rating

You need 1.5X weight rating of the weight of YOUR vehicle. Those 20s are going to take more psi than a 17 to carry the same load.
