5.74% on a 60month last week… when I ordered the car in 2021 the rate my CU was offering me was 1.74% … crazy

So shopping around for a good interest rate means you can't afford something? I just don't get that mentality. Not everyone wants to lay out $50-60k for a vehicle. Maybe they have the cash in the bank to do that but they'd rather not throw it all out on a vehicle. Some would rather put down half of it then get the best rate they can and finance the rest. It's just odd how some minds think.

I plan on keeping mine forever, so I did put over 1/2 down and got a cheaper payment. Everyone thinks differently.

I am laughing at all the folks that do not learn economics and make poor financial decisions based on emotion. Laugh all you want.... Buy real estate 1st, 2nd and 3rd. etc..... everything you desire comes later.

Anybody giving him grief about the loan term at 3.49% is silly considering a plain savings account pays 4% now and a 2-year CD is nearly 5%.


The blanket statements being thrown around here are comical. While I salute all the debt-free people, there is such a thing as making debt work for you. Take my advice with a gain of salt, though, because I'm a fool who took an 84-month loan at 2.29% on my first Bronco then sold that depreciating asset for $15k more than I paid.

I'm seeing ads for lower rates (3%) from other manufacturers. Things are slowing down. Inventories are up. Incentives are starting. They need to push the 23 model year out the door. The Bronco order bank is/was open a lot longer than anticipated. Ford is not immune. Could be we see Ford offer reduced rates too.
