If it was me I would do the Ford performance painted axles to get back on the road, you could buy a couple sets of those rather than the upgraded unknown axles that may not really solve your whole problem. I really think a diff drop is what you need if it's due to the excessive droop.

Yeah, that path scares me a bit. Maybe I'll just get them to replace the axles with stockers for now, see how it goes, and employ more discretion and less valour when wheeling.

If they're replacing them under warranty, yeah definitely. If you are having to pay for them it will cost you a lot more. For essentially the exact same shafts but unpainted.

Interesting, didn't realize Ford rolled out new expensive axles. I wonder what makes them worth RCV or spicer money...

They sound like Ford branded Spicer Extremes, at least the price and description kinda match.

The "Upgraded" Ford Performance ones are supposedly made out of a different, higher quality steel. I agree with @akturbo - think it's the same thing as Spicer Extreme on 29-spline. I dunno that it actually can articulate any differently or not - m210 CV was always a higher max angle than m190, and everyone is pretty cagey about whatever that number is.

They had just come out when I installed my m210 and I thought about it for about 20 seconds, and decided black spray paint was worth the Ford Performance upcharge (although now with the more expensive CVs it's a great deal)
