Think they'll be an aftermarket adapter to be able to use the rack with the hardtop removed? Seems easy enough to create those read mounting points!

Not only is it not difficult, it is actually designed for the owner to put on and take off routinely.

My plan would also be to just order the roof rack after the fact and install it myself.
Somewhere past page 200 of the Owner's Manual it explains how to remove the roof rack and even suggests doing that when it's not in use. I've ordered one, but have always planned to take it off immediately after getting it home from the dealer. I wanted to make sure that I had all of the right parts, which is why I won't be ordering it later.

Trailer hitch will be a dealer installed option, though, because my configuration won't allow it for some reason that makes no sense to me.
